As OOs work with their supply chain to execute capital projects and operate their assets,
they need an accurate up to date ‘engineering information model’ with a 3D visualization
layer of these assets. 3D Data Capture, up until now was predominantly project driven
Laser Scanning, has solved the critical issue of physically measuring the as-is condition of
complex physical assets. Now we have a new problem. Larger projects and repeat
scanning of the same asset. How do we manage, share, add intelligence to, validate,
visualize and keep as-is this extremely valuable data source?
The Trusted Living Pointcloud. This presentation looks at how OOs can use the Trusted
Living Pointcloud to take ownership of their data, how this can be technically realized and
latest developments in cloud computing and improvements in capture technology.
