People who are interested in the plot of a film and like a lot of
action, aged around 15-20.
Genres + Example of films:
Action adventure – Hunger games, Divergent.
Success/Awards:
20 Academy Awards, 77 Academy nominations.
Why would it be a good distributer for my film:
As it would suit the idea of a good plot with a lot of action.
Why would it not be a good distributer for my film:
The stories aren't as serious as a thriller would be, it would
focus on the story
4. Pathé have created films such as:
Mandela
The Queen
The Duchess
Philomena
These films are all of the drama genre but are also based on a true story. They
tend to have a older target audience, this is due to the fact that the characters
are also within this age frame and therefore the audience may find it easier to
relate to them but also that they are based on historical events that the
audience may be interested in. All the above films have a rating of a 12 and
therefore have only moderately offensive behavior in the movies that a older

5. Not particularly as though Pathé are know to work with
British companies and on low budget movies they
wouldn’t be the best fit as we are working towards
making a film for the thriller genre, when Pathé tend to
work more heavily on dramas. But not only this there
are differences in our target audiences are we are
pushing towards a younger target audience that would
be more open to seeing violent and probably more
offensive footage that they distributer is used to
publishing.

for their films
Their main target audience is a older generation
distributing mostly thrillers such as Non-Stop with Liam
Neeson and Robo Cop staring Samuel L Jackson.
They also have tried to reach a different target audience
in the film Paddington a child's favorite.

Studio canal have been earning awards since 1986
THE GRADUATE won a host of international awards
including five BAFTAS, five Golden Globes and the Best
Director Oscar for Mick Nichols
The Deer Hunter is an internationally recognized film with
16 Award wins and 19 nominations including 5 Oscars®;
Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Christopher Walken),
Best Director, Best Film Editing, Best Picture, Best Sound.
Golden Globe for Best Director, BAFTA Film Award for
Best Cinematography and Best Editing.

good distributer for our
film?It’s a very well known distributor and has produced
some very high end films
It covers a wide variety or genre of film from action
to comedy
Its earnt a lot of high end awards from all of the
different films it distributes like Oscars and BAFTAS

good distributor for our
film?As our film is a thriller I haven't yet found a film
that’s been distributed by studio canal and has been a
thriller.

Age Between 12- 30. As they do many Kid films but also do THRILLERS, Action
films, 18+. Films that would not be suitable for there young audience

Vertigo suits are genre of film, also may have the finance and ideas to
continue the process of the beginning
WHY IS IT A BAD DISTRIBUTOR FOR ARE MOVIE?
Vertigo seems that they may do too many kid films and this may get in the way
of creating a catchy thriller.
