An international conference on Next Generation Computing Technologies was held at UPES in Dehradun over two days. The conference was inaugurated by the Director General of UCOST and Vice-Chancellor of Uttaranchal Technical University. Around 250 participants from India and 15 other countries attended sessions on topics like Android application development, image processing, cloud computing, and more. Near 800 papers were submitted and 200 were accepted after review. The conference aimed to provide a platform for researchers and professionals to share ideas and collaborate.

International Conference â NCGTâ15 concludes in UPES
A two day international conference was organized in UPES campus under the aegis of their Centre for Information
Technology on âNext Generation Computing Technologiesâ (NGCT'15) in association with and under sponsorship
of the U.P. section of Indian Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) which is based out of IIT â Kanpur. The co-
sponsors included DRDO, DST, UCOST, ONGC, and RCPL. NGCTâ15 was first conference of its kind to provide an
international arena to a comprehensive community of technocrats, researchers, educators, software engineers, IT
professionals, and scholars to share their novel thoughts and collaborate towards technological enlightenment
and growth.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Dhobal, the Director General of UCOST as the Chief Guest in
presence of the guest of honor Dr. P.K. Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Uttaranchal Technical University. A scientific
souvenir was also released by them in the presence of Prof. S J Chopra (Chancellor, UPES) and Prof. Shrihari
Honwad (Vice Chancellor, UPES).
Mr Arun Dhand â Director for Media Affairs in UPES disclosed that almost 250 participants from various national
organizations took part in various sessions including overseas participation from 15 countries. NGCTâ15 platform
provided ample opportunity for discussions including Tutorials, Keynotes, Invited Talks, Poster presentation and
Workshops on âAndroid Application Developmentâ and âImage Processingâ. The Conference was technically
seeded with special Keynote addresses, including talks on âCloud and Data Management in Sciences - Challenges
and Opportunitiesâ by Prof. Dr. Ramin Yahyapour, Director, GWDG University, Göttingen, Germany; âSymbolic
Computingâ by Dr. Ethirajan Govinda Rajan, President, Pentagram Research Centre Private Limited, India; âThe

The technical discussions on âcurrent and future trendsâ were broadly split into six main conference tracks,
namely, High Performance Computing, Business Analytics and informatics, Communication and Computer
Network, Security and Privacy, Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Technologies. Near to
800 original researches were submitted for consideration, Around 200 papers were accepted for presentation
after a rigorous peer review and plagiarism check.
The conference was organized by a collective team of members of Centre for Information Technology and Next
Generation Computing Technologies Society, UPES, Dehradun including Dr. Manish Prateek (Convener), Dr. Amit
Agarwal and Dr. Manas Pradhan (Conference chairs) and Dr. Ajay Prasad (Secretary).
