2. As we wanted to create a teen physiological thriller we
decided to ask about the lighting our audience would
associate with the genre. These results show us that 100% of
that target audience associate low key lighting with the teen
thriller genre.
This is useful to us as we will be able to create our trailer using
lots of low key lighting as it will give the trailer more of an
authentic look towards the teen thriller genre.
To do this we will have to make sure to try and film lots of our
scenes within low key lighting as well as try some with high
key lighting for a contracts between the two.
4. These result show us that the most popular choice was
smashing pumpkins which had 7/10 compared to human
legacy 1/10 and fearless 2/10.
This shows us that we should probably use the song at some
part during our trailer. This was probably the best chosen one
because it starts of quite slow and build up in pace just as we
want the trailers pace to go. This will be useful also because
the target audience think it sounds like something that would
be in teen thriller, which will make the whole feel of the trailer
more authentic.
The second most popular one which was human legacy
would also be a good choice we could probably use both as
some trailers do mix more than one song in.
6. For this question we found that the most popular vote was for
a poster with just the main protagonist on it.
This will be useful for us because we can see that the target
audience would mainly like to see just one of the main
protagonists rather than the whole group. This will have to be
done really according to the narrative our trailer follows as it
might surround a group of friends rather than just one main
character.
The reason why having just the antagonist on the poster had
0 votes was because the target audience might not be able
to actually tell if hey are the antagonist or not. This is also not
a code and convention on teen thrillers as the antagonists
identity tends to a mystery and central to the plot.
7. For this question one of the interviewees felt that the trailer would
have to work really well in not giving away what actually happens
within the film and a lot would have to be left unsaid through the rest
of the trailer. This shows that they feel like it can be done but in away
that will not ruin the plot too much.
They also felt as long as it wasn’t a main character that is central to
the plot it would add interest to the trailer and its quite popular with
other trailers. But using a character that has been introduced as a
main character would ruin the trailer for them.
Also if death was a theme within the trailer it would also be ok to use
character death.
This will be useful for us as we can use this to make our trailer more
interesting as long as we don’t kill of a min character it will not ruin
the plot to much but show more of a theme of death.
