INFOLIB
(Information Library)
All the Print resources were capable of
giving of information and ideas to
students and reference material for
teachers.
NA
There are 4 available Globes and
numerous maps.These materials can
help bring outinformation to students
and understand deeper by
experiencing it on hand.
The computers are not very new they are
old models but still good for typing and
making documents. The printer is very
useful and free just bring your own
paper. The INFOLIB is very efficient. It
checks if the books are available.
Interactive instruction relies
heavily on discussion andsharing
among participants.
NA
Inductive, learner-
centred and activity oriented.
The emphasis in experiential
learning was on the process of
learning and not on the product.
Direct instruction was
highly teacher directed and was
commonly used. This includes
methods such as lectures,
questioning, explicit teaching
and demonstration.
Impression about the LRC:The Learning Resource Centre that I’ve observed was the Higher Education
Library. It has a very accommodating ambiance and the resources for teaching and learning are very
much abundant. The room is air-conditioned and the books and other learning materials are well
organized. The room was clean and neat which is suitable for studying and working.
Yes they are! The learning resources and materials are
arranged properly and very easy to access. They are arranged
according to their function and subject area. Also the Learning
Resource Centre (LRC) uses the Dewey Decimal Guide in arranging
the books. It helps to easily locate the books.
Yes it does! The guidelines and procedures of the LRC makes it very
accessible for teachers to use the materials because with the use or
application of the guidelines and procedures they can easily find what they
wantand whatthey willuse such asbooksandmapsand othermaterialswith
ease and without scouring every corner of the room.
I have chosen the
Higher Education Library of
Mount Carmel College Baler,
Aurora to observe as the
Learning Resource Centre.
The Library is a very
efficient Learning Resource
Centre because it has wide
range materials available
which is suitable for this
activity.
Since I was a student
in MCC Baler I have a library
card which allowedme to enter
the library.
2. The main strength that theirLearning Resource Centre is the people
that are managing it because without themthe LRC will not function and be
organized. Also the resources and materialsof the learning Resource Centre
must be sufficient enough to supply the needs of both students and teachers.
Also the resourcesmust be updated in what the modern world has to offer.
To be honest, The only main issue of the Learning Resource Centre
thatIhave observedisthe guidelines,procedures,and rulesthatwereprinted
out were not that much visually appealing and visible to students and
teachers. Furthermore if the Learning Resource Centre’sresources outdated
and the facilitators are not very great it will technically
be a weak Learning Resource Centre.
The suggestion I would give to make the Learning Resource Centre
better is they should make the Guidelinesand Rulesmore visible and visually
appealing so students would be attracted and read the guidelinesand rules
at the same time. It must be well planned, organized and well managed so
that it can function to supply the needs of students and teachers.
The INFOLIB is the material that caught my interest. The
INFOLIB is a computer that allows you to search a book if it’s available
inside the LRC and if it is not. By just typing the title or the authorof the
book it will appear and show the number code or its Dewey Decimal
number. With that you can easily locate the book you want to
use and borrow.
The Computer and the printer. Since there is a computer where
you can use it freely for typing and creating documents and a printer that
is free printing just bring your own paper it is the material or gadget that
I am most fond and confident to use inside the Library or the learning
Resource Centre.
Probably the Dewey Decimal Guide that they use in organizing
and arranging their books. It is sometimes hard to use it because I’mjust
used to looking and searching through each shelves and find the title of
the book but if we tried to use the Dewey Decimal Guide we can search
and locate the book and materials we want.
There are wide range
of different books like
encyclopaedias, Dictionaries
Novels and even Newspapers
inside the library
The Learning
Resource Centre is very wide
and neat. The walls are
mustard yellow that matched
the yellow curtains.
It has a very quiet and
peaceful ambiance which is
very suitable for studying and
reading.
The books are
arranged accordingly by their
subject area. They are
numbered through the Dewey
Decimal Guide.
The books and other
materialslike the mapsand the
Globes are dust free and very
clean.
There are numerous
signs and procedures printed
especially the Dewey Decimal
Guide and the sign saying
“Silence”.
A very big number of
Encyclopaedias are available
notto mention the Dictionaries
are already opened for easy
access.
All in all the aura and
ambiance of the LRC is
welcoming and peaceful also
the available materials are
efficient and all are in good
condition.
There are computers
that are also available inside
the LRC which is free to be
used for typing purposes only.
