There is evidence of proficiency in the creative use of many of the technical skills.
Footage:
Is appropriate for target audience, fitting genre conventions of drama well.
Controlled use of camera although some shots out of focus.
Editing:
Edited well to build tension. Good variety of shots used throughout.
Sound:
Some good use of diegetic and non-diegetic sound. Although better balance
between soundtrack and dialogue was needed.
Overall:
A proficient drama piece. Excellent use of locations. Title font not in keeping with
the genre.
Evaluation – Comments and mark out of 17/20
Question 1: Answered using a word and slideshare. Candidate explains well how she
conforms to horror genre conventions using stills from her film opening. Excellent detail
however would have benefited from comparing certain aspects to real media products.
Question 2: Answered using prezi. Candidate explains well who the target audience is and
how they are represented in her film opening. She acknowledges that using older actors
helped create believability for the audience helping represent the desired social groups.
Question 3: Answered using power-point and slideshare. Candidate explains well that
Anchor Bay Entertainment teamed with 20th
Century Fox would be best to distribute her film
using good clear examples.
Question 4 and 5: Answered using powtoon and blogger. Question 4 answered well using
avatars to show stereotypical audience members likes and dislikes. Question 5 answered
using a survey of a good range of people. Results are displayed in the powtoon and the raw
results via a blog post. Results are analysed and reflected on in good detail.
Question 6: Answered using photoshop and blogger. Great collage created using
photoshop. Excellent detail on all the technologies used throughout the process.
Question 7: Answered using prezi. Candidate provides a very detailed reflective piece
explaining what she has learnt throughout her journey, excellent detail, well done.
Overall an excellent evaluation, great attention to detail and uses a good range of
technologies, well done.
