1. Dinosaur Lesson Plan
Wednesday Assure
Analyze the Learner
I am going to be teaching my 2nd grade student the history of dinosaurs and introduce the
different types of dinosaurs that existed during this time period. There are 20 students in my
class, 11 boys and 9 girls. The students are 60% African American, 30% Caucasian and 10%
Hispanic. Two of the students have mild ADHD.
State the Objective
Students will talk about the differences in the characteristics of meat eating dinosaurs and
plant eating dinosaurs. They will be able to do so by me showing them pictures and YouTube
videos. By the end of the day there will be 100% accuracy.
Select Methods, Media and Materials
This lesson will consist of me using posters, mirrors to examine their teeth, and charts.
Utilize Media and Material
Preview the Material: The first part of the lesson plan will consist of me presenting a
poster on the characteristics of meat and plant eaters.
Prepare the Material: At the science center students will examine their own teeth with
a mirror to compare to dinosaur teeth.
Prepare the Environment: I will show the students a comparison chart on dinosaur
teeth.
2. Prepare the Learner: The students will see a poster with human teeth and learn what
parts of the teeth are used for.
Provide a Learning Experience
Students will be encouraged to raise their hand and ask questions. Students will sort the
different snacks into meat and plant eating categories. They will have snacks like lettuce, lunch
meat, apples, carrots, hotdogs, and celery.
Evaluate and Revise:
Students will complete a webquest.
