Objective: To integrate Blackland prairie plantings and
habitats into out-of-play areas within the larger course.
“This project will result in a plan for planting out-of-play areas utilizing
hardy native species that will hold up under annual tournament traffic and
create Blackland prairie habitat supporting native plants, wildlife, and birds
as is feasible with respect to design, sustainability, and cost. This project
will focus on the
• Identification and prioritization of appropriate restoration sites for
wildscape and/or formal plantings,
• Identification and sourcing of appropriate plants and seed mixes, and
• Long-term management recommendations that support this restoration
project and the riparian ecosystem surrounding it.”
