Pupil1 Dear boys and girls! Teachers and our guests! Welcome to our party! It is devoted to …
Pupil1 So children? Guess our first country!
Its emblem is a red rose.
It is situated in the south of Great Britain.
Its capital is London.
Your breakfast, sirs!
Thank you, Mrs Hutson. Is there anything interesting in the morning papers, Sherlock?
Everything is as usual: crimes, robberies and murders.
Is everything so terrible?
I don't know, Dear Watson. I'm reading only criminal pages.
Oh? Come on, Holmes. Look, what a wonderful day is going to be!
I'm not sure.
A visitor to you, Mr Holmes!
Good morning, sirs! You've, of course, recognized me.
OK! Let me see. Oh, you are a secretary of my brother Micheal.
Мери Попинс (образливо) No. I am a
superteacher
I teach kids all day long
I read and ask
And give them task
To sing with me the
song.
Of course! You are Mary Poppins.
Yes, gentlemen. We've got into
troubles. You should help!
Don't worry! What's the matter?
Hush! It's a secret! The crown
jewelries are stolen. And every Englishman knows
it means the end of Great Britain.
What? Poor England! It will disappear forever.
Mr Holmes, you should find the thief and save our Motherland. The thief left a note.
Look!
Ok! First you should guess the words. Then it must be a story. At last what this
world would be without music?
Oh! Thereis a puzzle. Very interesting.
You can see with your …
Binocular?
No, Watson! Only four letters. Write down,
Mary, E-Y-E-S
It's elementary, Watson.
Let's ask pupils for help.
If you wish…
You can smell with your …(nose)
Another word for nice …(good)
Another word for small … (little)
It's a red or yellow fruit … (apple)
You say it, when you don't agree (no)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday …. What is it?
(day)
Look! Here is a hidden word. ENGLAND
Well done, Watson! Now we should make a story about our country.
England is in the central and southern part of Great Britain. It has long history and
interesting traditions. The capital of England is London.
The symbol of England is a red rose, and English people are crazy about gardening.
Everywhere in England you will see gardens, large and small. The English are also
famous for their love to animals.
The two oldest and most famous universities in England are in Oxford and Cambridge.
Some of the wildest and most beautiful countryside in England is in the north.
It is very popular with tourists. If you go to Newcastle, you will see Hadrian's Wall.
Roman soldiers built it two thousand years ago.
English football is famous of course, but there is another national sport too - cricket.
Some cricket matches continue for five days, and often there isn't even a winner!
Englishmen are a bit reserved, but very polite.
We keep our traditions with great honour.
Englishmen are very patriotic.
(song “Oh, sweet England!”)
Oh sweet England how we love you,
The pride of English countryside.
Oh sweet England we'll be with you,
For you to fill us full of pride.
Never in our lifetime could weя leave
you,
Even when you have to go abroad.
We'll be out there looking to support
you
And cheer each golden goal that's
scored
Pupil1 To get to this country you should cross the Atlantic ocean.
It consists of states.
Its capital is Washington.
(video)
Aunt Polly Tommy! Tommy! Where are you, a
nasty boy?
Tom What's the matter, auntie? Why are
you so crying? Is our house on fire?
Aunt Polly What's that?
Tom Don't you see? It's a page.
Aunt Polly What page?
Tom Oh, auntie. I'll explain everything.
Aunt Polly OK!
Tom It's from my daybook.
Aunt Polly I see… What mark is there on this page?
Tom Let me see. Oops! It's not mine. Mr Stone has mistaken.
Aunt Polly Really? Tell the truth, nasty boy or I …
Tom OK! Mr Stone hasn't mistaken.
Aunt Polly What did you do at Geography
lesson?
Tom Well, Mr Stone was telling about
prairies…
Aunt Polly And you?
Tom I was drawing cowboys.
Aunt Polly Which cowboys? Why cowboys?
Tom But they lived in prairies. Look!
(Cowboy's dance)
Tom Now you see. They are real. May I go
out and play.
Aunt Polly No, first you should learn your
geography lesson.
Becky Good day! I brought an invitation to
Tom. My parents and I would like to invite him to
my birthday party.
Aunt Polly You see, my dear child! Tom is
punished. First he should learn his Geography
lesson.
Becky I can help him.
Aunt Polly You've got a kind heart, my dear!
Becky You'll see, Tommy, it's easy. You should
read and imagine pictures. Let's begin!
(presentation)
1.The capital of the USA is Washington. It is
situated on the East Coast. It was chosen by
George Washington as a permanent site for a capital
on December 1, 1800.
2.Washington is situated on the Potomac River.
1.Christopher Columbus discovered America in
October, 1492
2.Pilgrifathers sailed to America on the ship
Mayflower.
1.The American national flag consists of 50 white stars
and 13 stripes. The 50 stars stand for the 50 states of
the Union, and the 13 stripes stand for the original 13
states
2.The President is the head of state and government.
1.New York is the largest city in the USA.
2.The most popular sports in the USA are baseball, basketball, American football
1.The Statue of Liberty was built in New York Harbor in 1886. It was a gift from the
people of France.
2.Americans celebrate Independence Day on the 4th of July.
Pupil1 This country lies to the north of England.
The capital of it is Edinburg.
The people that live there are called Scots.

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer -
A-chasing the wild deer, and following the roe;
My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North
The birth place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
Farewell to the mountains high coverеd with snow;
Farewell to the straits and green valleys below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods;
Farwell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.
My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer
Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe;
My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.
1.We decided to start our presentation of Scotland with this famous poem. Does anybody know
the author of it? Yes, surely. This poem was written by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns.
2.Scotland is very famous for its beautiful scenery. There are mountains, valleys, lakes and
hundreds of islands. The most famous lake is called Loch Ness. It is very deep and some people
believe that a mysterious creature lives at the bottom. This monster is often called 'Nessie'.
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Great Britain.
3.An important symbol of Scotland is a special kind of material called 'tartan'. Traditional
tartan skirts are called kilts and many Scots wear them -women and men!
4.Another Scottish symbol is the thistle. Thistles are plants. They are beautiful but they are very
sharp too. An ancient story says that enemies from across the sea hurt their feet on Scottish
thistles. They quickly jumped back into their ships and sailed away.
1.The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. Every summer it has a huge festival, and artists, poets,
musicians and actors from all over the world go there.
2.There is also a special military show called a 'tattoo' at the castle. Military bands play some
very unusual musical instruments called bagpipes.
3.There is always a lot of music, dancing and fun at 'Hogmanay' - that's the Scottish word for
New Year's Eve.
4.The ancient language of Scotland is called Gaelic. Some people in Scotland still speak it and
they also use Gaelic words when they speak English. For example, loch means lake
1.Scots are famous for their love to music and games. Now we would like to propose you to
play some folk games.
2.The first contest is between boys. Who will put the kilt faster?
3.For the next game we need two sacks and a bench. You should push your opponent down.
4.The next contest is between teams. You should pull the rope.
1.For this contest Scots take logs. We'll use brooms instead of them. You should carry them
carefully but quickly. The one who drops is the looser.
2.I can't imagine Scotland without bagpipes and Celtic
music. There is some magic in it.
(Celtic song)
Pupil This country is situated on the island.
The capital of it is Belfast.
It is famous for brilliant Irish dancers.
(video)
1.Ireland is the name of an island. It is next to the island
of Great Britain. There are two parts of Ireland:
Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland is a different
country. ;
2.Everywhere in Ireland you will see green, in fact Ireland's other name is 'the Emerald Isle'.
Green is one of the symbols of Ireland and everybody wears green on Saint Patrick's Day, the
Irish national holidav.
3.The most famous symbol of Ireland is the shamrock. It became a symbol because it
grows in many places - and it has three leaves. The number three is very special for Irish
people - some even believe it is magic.
4.Another Irish symbol is the harp, and two other traditional instruments are the bagpipes and
the fiddle ('fiddle' is another word for 'violin'). The Irish are famous for their playing, singing
and dancing.
5.Leprechauns are Irish fairies. They are shoemakers, and they are not very friendly. They also
have secret pots of gold. If you find a leprechaun, you can look for his gold, but don't look away
from the leprechaun. If you do, he will disappear -and so will the gold! Of course, this is only a
superstition. Hush! Somebody is coming!
(acting)
(the leprechaun is entering the room)
I'm a little leprechaun
Dressed in green,
The tiniest man
That you have seen.
If you ever catch me, so it's told,
I'll give you my big pot of gold
(laughs and runs away dropping a golden coin)
Look! It's gold!
Really? Let's run after him!
(in a minute the return with the leprechaun)
No! It's my gold! Go away!
You should give us just a little!
Why?
The legend says you should give your gold to the person that found you.
No! No! It's lie.
Yes! You should!
No! No!No! Be like stones!
(boys can't move, leprechaun runs away)
Help us!
We can't move!
What should we do?
I heard about kind Irish
fairies. They will help.
How can we find them?
They live in the forest and
they love dancing.
Listen! Here they are.
(dancing)
Dear fairies! You are so
beautiful!
And kind!
Could you help us?
What's the matter?
Leprechaun has done some
magic and our friends can't
move.
OK! But you should promise something.
What?
Don't search for gold any more!
Promise!
Pupil1 There is a dragon on the flag of this country.
It is a part of Great Britain.
Welsh people live there.
(video)
1.Wales is situated to the west of England. The capital of Wales is Cardiff. It is also a very busy
port.
2.A red dragon is probably the oldest symbol of Wales. If you go to Wales, you will see red
dragons everywhere - on signs, in souvenir shops and on flags.
3.Another symbol of Wales is a vegetable called a leek. Welsh people wear them on their coats
on St David's Day, the Welsh national holiday, although some people r wear another symbol of
Wales - the daffodil.
4.There are two official languages in Wales, Welsh and English, although English is usually
spoken. Children study Welsh at school and some people speak it all the time. Signs are usually
in Welsh and English. The Welsh language has some very long place names; look at this station
sign!
5.Tourists love the beautiful Welsh beaches, and mountains of Snowdonia are popular too. The
ancient castles are also big tourist attractions.
6.Welsh people are famous for their singing and their music festivals. A musical instrument, the
harp, is one of the symbols of Wales.
7. The Welsh are crazy about rugby. It's their national sport.
Pupil 2.
Pupil 1
Pupil 2 I should try to do my best. Our party is over. Good-bye!

  • 7. My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer - A-chasing the wild deer, and following the roe; My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North The birth place of Valour, the country of Worth; Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. Farewell to the mountains high coverеd with snow; Farewell to the straits and green valleys below; Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods; Farwell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods. My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe; My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. 1.We decided to start our presentation of Scotland with this famous poem. Does anybody know the author of it? Yes, surely. This poem was written by the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. 2.Scotland is very famous for its beautiful scenery. There are mountains, valleys, lakes and hundreds of islands. The most famous lake is called Loch Ness. It is very deep and some people believe that a mysterious creature lives at the bottom. This monster is often called 'Nessie'. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Great Britain. 3.An important symbol of Scotland is a special kind of material called 'tartan'. Traditional tartan skirts are called kilts and many Scots wear them -women and men! 4.Another Scottish symbol is the thistle. Thistles are plants. They are beautiful but they are very sharp too. An ancient story says that enemies from across the sea hurt their feet on Scottish thistles. They quickly jumped back into their ships and sailed away.
  • 8. 1.The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. Now we would like to propose you to play some folk games. 2.The first contest is between boys. Who will put the kilt faster? 3.For the next game we need two sacks and a bench. You should push your opponent down. 4.The next contest is between teams. You should pull the rope.
  • 9. 1.For this contest Scots take logs. We'll use brooms instead of them. You should carry them carefully but quickly. The one who drops is the looser. 2.I can't imagine Scotland without bagpipes and Celtic music. There is some magic in it. (Celtic song) Pupil This country is situated on the island. The capital of it is Belfast. It is famous for brilliant Irish dancers. (video) 1.Ireland is the name of an island. It is next to the island of Great Britain. There are two parts of Ireland:
  • 10. Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland is a different country. ; 2.Everywhere in Ireland you will see green, in fact Ireland's other name is 'the Emerald Isle'. Green is one of the symbols of Ireland and everybody wears green on Saint Patrick's Day, the Irish national holidav. 3.The most famous symbol of Ireland is the shamrock. It became a symbol because it grows in many places - and it has three leaves. The number three is very special for Irish people - some even believe it is magic. 4.Another Irish symbol is the harp, and two other traditional instruments are the bagpipes and the fiddle ('fiddle' is another word for 'violin'). The Irish are famous for their playing, singing and dancing. 5.Leprechauns are Irish fairies. They are shoemakers, and they are not very friendly. They also have secret pots of gold. If you find a leprechaun, you can look for his gold, but don't look away from the leprechaun. If you do, he will disappear -and so will the gold! Of course, this is only a superstition. Hush! Somebody is coming! (acting) (the leprechaun is entering the room) I'm a little leprechaun Dressed in green, The tiniest man That you have seen. If you ever catch me, so it's told, I'll give you my big pot of gold (laughs and runs away dropping a golden coin) Look! It's gold! Really? Let's run after him!
  • 11. (in a minute the return with the leprechaun) No! It's my gold! Go away! You should give us just a little! Why? The legend says you should give your gold to the person that found you. No! No! It's lie. Yes! You should! No! No!No! Be like stones! (boys can't move, leprechaun runs away) Help us! We can't move! What should we do? I heard about kind Irish fairies. They will help. How can we find them? They live in the forest and they love dancing. Listen! Here they are. (dancing) Dear fairies! You are so beautiful! And kind! Could you help us? What's the matter? Leprechaun has done some magic and our friends can't move. OK! But you should promise something. What? Don't search for gold any more! Promise!

The ancient castles are also big tourist attractions. 6.Welsh people are famous for their singing and their music festivals. A musical instrument, the harp, is one of the symbols of Wales. 7. The Welsh are crazy about rugby. It's their national sport. Pupil 2.
