Where the machine is 8 truck machine and the machine diameter is (a) 29” (b)

Solution
(a) For 29” machine dia
3. M/C dia D = 29”
Gauge = 24 needle/inch
Total no of needle = πDG
= π × 29 × 24
= 2186.54 ≈ 2187
No of active needle and inactive needle = 2187/8 = 273 × 8 + 3
Active needle = 273 × 8 = 2184
Inactive needle = 3
Total no of cam box = 3D = 3 × 29 = 87
Now cam box repeat = 87/3 = 29
No of active cam box = 3 × 29 = 87
No of inactive cam box = 0
Total no of cam = no of cam box × truck
= 87 × 8
= 696
No of knit cam = 18 × 29 = 522
No of Tuck cam = 6 × 29 = 174
No of miss cam = 0
(b)For 39” machine dia
M/C dia D = 39”
Gauge = 24 needle/inch
Total no of needle = πDG
= π × 39 × 24
4. = 2940.53 ≈ 2941
No of active needle and inactive needle = 2941/8 = 367 × 8 + 5
Active needle = 367 × 8 = 2936
Inactive needle = 5
Total no of cam box = 3D = 3 × 39 = 117
Now cam box repeat = 117/3 = 39
No of active cam box = 3 × 39 = 117
No of inactive cam box = 0
Total no of cam = no of cam box × truck
= 117 × 8
= 936
No of knit cam = 18 × 39 = 702
No of Tuck cam = 6 × 39 = 234
No of miss cam = 0
(c) For 49” machine dia

Gauge = 24 needle/inch
Total no of needle = πDG
= π × 49 × 24
= 3694.51 ≈ 3695
No of active needle and inactive needle = 3695/8 = 461 × 8 + 7
Active needle = 461 × 8 = 3688
5. Inactive needle = 7
Total no of cam box = 3D = 3 × 49 = 147
Now cam box repeat = 147/3 = 49
No of active cam box = 3 × 49 = 147
No of inactive cam box = 0
Total no of cam = no of cam box × truck
= 147 × 8
= 1176
No of knit cam = 18 × 49 = 882
