What is a computer
A computer is a machine or device that performs processes, calculations and operations based on
instructions provided by a software or hardware program. It has the ability to accept data (input),
process it, and then produce outputs.
Computers can also store data for later uses in appropriate storage devices, and retrieve whenever it
is necessary.
Computer components
There are a lot of components that are being used in computer for different uses. They have
different use cases. Some of them are used for taking input, some of them are used for processing
data, some for storing data, and some for showing outputs. There are 5 types of components for
computer.

3. 1. Motherboard
A motherboard is the main printed circuit board (PCB) in a computer. The motherboard is a
computer's central communications backbone connectivity point, through which all
components and external peripherals connect.
2. Central Processing Unit
Central processing unit (CPU), principal part of any digital computer system, generally
composed of the main memory, control unit, and arithmetic-logic unit. The control unit of the
central processing unit regulates and integrates the operations of the computer.

4. 3. Graphics Processing Unit
A graphics processing unit is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and
alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display
device. GPUs are used in embedded systems, mobile phones, personal computers, workstations,
and game console.

5. 4. RAM Unit
RAM (Random Access Memory) is the hardware in a computing device where the
operating system (OS), application programs and data in current use are kept so they can
be quickly reached by the device's processor. RAM is the main memory in a computer

Storage in computer systems. A storage device is a piece of hardware that is primarily used
for storing data. ... A storage device is also known as a storage medium or storage media.
Digital storage is measured in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB), and, these days, terabytes
(TB)
