2007-To Date Parts and Services Ltd.
Parts Manager
Run a busy multi-franchised parts department meeting the varied demands from both
trade and retail customers whilst also supplying our service department with it diverse
range of parts requests. Have taken on the training for two new major franchises since
joining; Case/New Holland Agricultural machines as well as Mercedes/Freightliner
Trucks, alongside our other main franchises of Scania, Fuso, SKF, Caltex, etc.
Implemented a structured stock control system with the introduction of a rolling stock
taking process for the 21,000+ line items held in stock at any one time. Initiated work
on the implementation of a more automated re-ordering process, within the limitations
of the current IT restraints, to reduces re-ordering costs and thereby improve the overall
margin gained at point of sale.
Introduced the company’s first on-line special offer feature, with monthly priced
promotions available to our website customers, organised customer evenings and
initiated our own fuel cards all which have improved the profitability by 20+% in the
last couple of years and created our first ever $600k monthly turnover figure.
2004-2007 Brooklyn Toyota Ltd.
Parts Manager
Ran a busy automotive parts department meeting both trade requests as well as
maintaining correct stock levels as part of Toyota procedures. Designed the layout for
the department within the new purpose built site again maintaining and exceeding all
Toyota guidelines.
Increased total sales output by over 10% in year on year, despite the massive turmoil
that was associated with the massive building works on site.
Implemented full V8 policies including “just-in-time” ordering, 2 day pre-picking
policy for all internal jobs, plus everyday invoicing and cash reconciliation.
2. Introduced the company’s first priced accessory flier for each vehicle within the
showroom which successfully targeting the additional sales of accessories during the
customer’s buying process.
2002-2004 Leominster Farm Supplies Ltd
Retail Manager
Ran a twin sited retail business by meeting trade representatives to negotiate in-season
and pre-season orders, implementing new stocking and pricing procedures, dealing
with personnel issues, along with everyday invoicing, cash reconciliation stock control.
Increased total sales output by 18% in first year and again 12% in second year, despite
increased local competition.
Completed all groundwork for the computerization of the ordering, stock control and
invoicing system via the introduction of EPOS.
Introduced the company’s first direct mail-shot campaign, successfully targeting a
wider customer base whilst defending our existing customers.
Updated the overall layout of both sites to improve customer flow and associated
product sales.
1999-2002 Bearings, Belts and Sprockets (Hfd) Ltd
Office/Shop Manager
Ran a small retail business; from ordering, display, stock control, sales, invoicing, creating
customer and supplier accounts to Purchase Ledger, credit control reconciliation and
running month and year-end procedures.
Designed and created the Company website which covered costs in it first year, plus
introduced and produce the Company’s monthly “Special Offers” publication.
New lines introduced in the last year have increased net profits by excess of 6%.
