3. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
What is lines?
• A line is simply defined as appoint moving
in space in any direction. It may horizontal,
vertical, diagonal, or curved line. It
considered as one of the most essential
elements of art.
• Using line, one can give details on
sculpture, give design to a painting of
colors, or bring the canvas into shapes and
forms. A line can measured by length,
width, and weight and it can be short,
long, dotted, solid, thick, or thin.
4. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
HORIZONTAL LINES
• Anything parallel to the horizon is called horizontal. As
vertical is opposite of horizontal, anything that makes a
90-degree angle (right angle) with the horizontal of the
horizon is called vertical.
5. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
VERTICAL LINES
• Vertical lines are lines that go straight up
and down as you can see from the
example.
6. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
DIAGONAL LINES
• A line segment the goes from one corner to
another.
7. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
CURVED LINES
• A curved line is the one that is not straight or is bent.
Ideally, it is smooth and continuous.
8. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
SQUARE
• A square is a two-dimension shape with four equal
straight sides and four right angles (90 degrees).
9. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
CIRCLE
• A circle is a round two-dimension shape which all
points on the edge of the circle are at the distance from
the center.
10. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
TRIANGLE
• A triangle is a two-dimension figure with three straight
sides and three angles.
11. DRAW BASIC SHAPES USING LINES
RECTANGLE
• A rectangle is a plane figure with four sides and four
right angle corners with opposite lenghts.
