In the mathematical set there are:
1. The Set Square: for drawing perpendicular and parallel lines
2. The Ruler: for measuring lengths and joining points
3. The Compass: for constructing angles, triangles, circles etc.
4. The Protractor: for measuring angles
5. The Pencil: for construction
4. DEFINITION OFTERMS
Lines: A line is the distance between two point a line can be a thin or thick mark that
can also be short or long. It has length but no breath. A line can be straight, curved,
wavy or zigzag

1. Perpendicular lines

• PERPENDICULAR LINES
These are two straight lines which
meet to form a right angle triangle or
cross each other at right angle
• HORIZONTAL LINES
These are straight line that run from
east to west

• VERTICAL LINES
These are numbers that stand
upright or cross the horizontal line at
900
• PARALLEL LINES
These are straight lines that never
meet, however far they are drawn

• TRANSVERSAL LINES
These are straight lines which cut two
or more parallel lines.
• OBLIQUE LINES
These are straight slanting lines that
meet horizontal lines forming angles
that are less or more than 900

• Right angle: this is an angle that is equal to 900 .
• Acute angle: this is an angle that is less than 900
• Obtuse angle: this is an angle that is more than 900,but less than 1800
• Straight angle: this is an angle on a straight line. It is 1800
• Reflex angle: this is an angle that is more than 1800 but less than 3600
• Complementary angle: these are angles which have the total of 900
• Supplementary angle: these are angles which have a total of 1800
• Angle at a point: these are angles which have a total of 3600
• Complete turn or revolution: an angle that is 3600
