The brief notes
The project is open plan but had someguidelines. This is a pass/failmodule,
and does not matter to final grade, but like still need to do well.
The whole project is about a responseto a city. We should study the city and
create a physicalresponse, so you can experience it without being there.
The city is not a specific place, it is an entity that we create. Itisn’t Manchester.
Itdoesn’thave to be justa city, it could be issuebased or people based.
We should think in detail aboutwhat a city is. What is a city? How are we
influenced by it? How could we representit? How does it smell? How does it
feel? How does it look?
Look into different inspirations for whatwe could do, research into different
artists and campaigns. For instance, Olivare Ratsi used joiner photography to
show famous buildings, which creates a really abstractand interesting effect.
We should represent things visually and physically. So, wecould make
infographics to show statistics visually. The end resultshould be creative and
interesting, play around take risks. Itshould bea mix of physicaland digital
work.
We should make a target audience for our project. Who is it made for? What
have we made? Why arewe making it? What is its purpose?
Itcould be UX based and be interactive/reactive.
We have to put together an exhibition then presentit to the other groups.
There is three weeks until it has to be handed in, so time management is
important.
Reflective report due in Friday afternoon. Presentation is on Thursday at2pm,
so we will havetime to sorteverything out. Need to send a link to my blog.
Document the processes and experiences and whatI have individually and as a
group produced. Need to send an export of the blog, date stamped (Will also

2. be a backup) -BOOKBLOGGER. Any sketch books or anything needs to be
handed in. Need to also write about the team work, the casebook should be 30
pages of everything that we’veworked on, so need to show research into
everything (Video, Posters, Script, etc)
