2. Light switch
We were separated into groups, then were told to redesign
the light switch used for the room. We started by picking
apart the light switch and saying what was good and bad
about it. We decided that there was too many buttons, and
that they were over complicating what a light switch should
be which made it quite unfriendly for the user.
So we decided that the new design should be more simple
and user friendly. We wanted the switch to be a touch screen
panel on the wall, this would eliminate buttons all together
and mean that there could be more functions in a smaller
panel. The screen would turn on my tapping it, then there
would be a circle that you touch to turn on the lights, this also
allows you to have the lights at different brightness’. There
would then be a small cog in the corner, that when pressed
will take the user to the settings page, where they can access
a section where they can set up times when the lights will
automatically turn on or off, you can also get to the Eco mode
settings.
