—No comprehensive and systematic soil survey
over the last three decades that would generate data
and information relating to the spatial variability of soil
types
—Lack of up to date information is in turn compromising
the technical advisory services from different
government institutions.

—It was against this background that the Government of
Lesotho sought the assistance to facilitate the
establishment of Lesotho Soil Information System.
—The establishment of this information system will
support Lesotho’s efforts towards sustainable
management of her soil and water resources while at
the same time adhering to GLOSIS requirements.

and fill soil data gaps
