4. Aim
To study the different aspects of Civil Engineering and technologies used
in the construction of ‘Samruddhi Expressway.’
Introduction
• In order to boost the road infrastructure for faster connectivity between
different cities the Government of Maharashtra has planned Nagpur Mumbai
Super Communication Expressway.
• The proposed Super Communication Expressway is being implemented by
Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) which will pass
through 10 districts from Vidarbh.

Objective
• To study the different aspects of Civil Engineering.
• To study various technologies used in the construction of Samruddhi Mahamarg.
• To understand the feasibility of the project.
Project Description
• The total length of Super Communication Expressway in 710km & will be
constructed in 15 Packages.
• For Package 1(Nagpur to Wardha), it will starts from Shivmadka in Nagpur up to
Aamgao in Wardha for 89km.
• The Approximate Estimated cost for Package-1 will be Rs.3348.70Crs. and the
cost of per Km will be Rs.37.62Crs.
• As both the districts are fast developing, the Expressway will connect JNPT
Wardha and MIDC Butibori to JNPT Aurangabad and Mumbai.

The Expressway
• The aim of the super communication expressway is to create connectivity to
the last mile with best public transport facilities for quick and easy movement
of people and goods.
Key features of Samruddhi Expressway
• It will have a speed limit of 150 km/h which will bring Nagpur and Mumbai
within 8 hours reach.
• The expressway having a total width of 120m with a central meridian.
• The expressway will be a Zero Fatality Mahamarg; it will have CCTV
surveillance and free telephone booths at every 5km.
• JNPT, DMIC and WDFC will connect

Conclusion:-
From the detailed analysis of The Samruddhi Mahamarg it is concluded that
during the construction of proposed route, the principles in Civil Engineering is used in
every aspects and new technologies are used.
It is also concluded that no significant deterioration in the eco-system is likely
to occur due to measures to be taken up during construction and operation phase of
the project.
