Adjusting to the Economy and a Furlough - In preparation for the possibility of furloughs and financial uncertainties,
Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) Gulfport is offering a class to help employees adjust to the current financial
climate and its implications. “Adjusting to the Economy and a Furlough” is scheduled for March 20, 11 a.m. - noon at
FFSC, building 30. Presenters include Saudi Rogers, Marie Chasse and Paula Ingram. Light refreshments will be served.

Communicating in Your Child’s Love Language Workshop - Come and strengthen your relationship with your child
by learning how to communicate in your child's "love language"; and for the children, there will be FREE childcare for ages
6 and under and an Interactive FOCUS Workshop for ages 7 to 12. This workshop is open to all parents and expecting
parents; and will be offered at the Base Chapel April 11, 6 to 7:30 p.m. A FREE dinner is included. Sign-ups are required.

Team NCBC Winners - Congratulations to “Team NCBC” for their victory over “Team Keesler AFB” in the Can Do Weight
Loss Challenge. Team NCBC lost a total of 7.9 percent of body weight, while Team Keesler dropped 3 percent. Individual
challenge winners for Team NCBC were Danny Brody and Tawana Troup. Great job Team NCBC!
Mississippi Surge Hockey Fans - Great news! As part of Military Appreciation Night, the Mississippi Surge Hockey Team
has generously donated a limited quantity of tickets to their Friday, March 22 game against the Louisiana Ice Gators. The
puck will drop at 7:05 p.m., at the Coast Coliseum. Pick up your tickets at the NCBC PAO Office Friday, March 15 -
Wednesday, March 20, between the hours of 8 - 3 p.m. Public Affairs is located in building 1, second floor, room 205.
Building 1 is the main headquarters building that you would run into if you came in through the Broad Ave Gate. This
offer is good for all NCBC Gulfport authorized personnel (DOD I.D. card holders) First come, first served . . . Please NO

Cyber Security App Warning - The Thrift Savings Plan posted a notice on its website warning account holders about
using an unsanctioned smart phone application. According to TSP, the Apple App Store lists a free IPhone application
called TSP Funds that asks TSP participant for their account login information. TSP said that the application is not being
offered through TSP, and that TSP does not recommend using the app to access accounts. The app could represent a
security risk.
PWD Gulfport Trouble Desk moving to Regional Call Center (RCC) - Effective April 1 the Public Works Department
Trouble Desk will move to a regional system. The RCC phone number is 1-855-462-8322. The RCC will be operational 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. All routine and emergency service calls will be called into the RCC. Only Building Managers
and Authorized Callers may place routine service calls, but anyone is authorized to place an emergency call. A transition
brief and training session will take place March 20, 11 a.m. - noon in the Training Hall, building 446. A question and
answer session will also take place at the training session. All Building Managers and Authorized Callers are encouraged
to attend the training.
NCBC Tax Center now open - The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) office is located in building 60, room 265.
Appointments for self-service tax preparation are being offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and appointments for
full-service for certain circumstances are being offered Mondays and Thursdays. VITA is open Mondays – Thursdays, 9
a.m. - 2:30 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. For general questions or to make an appointment call 228-822-5131.

~Women’s Bible Study - Women’s Bible Study is held Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at the Seabee Memorial Chapel. Free
child care is available.
~Looking for a church? The Seabee Memorial Chapel holds services every Sunday that might suit your needs.
Protestant Services include a Gospel Service at 8 a.m. and Divine Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Catholic Services include
Catholic Mass at 9:30 a.m. There is also a Catholic Mass Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m.
~ Seabee Pantry – The Seabee Pantry is always in need of donations to restock the food pantry. Donation drop-off sites
are located at the Navy Exchange, Chapel, Commissary, Fleet and Family Support Center and Armed Forces Retirement
Home. Everyone affiliated with NCBC can use the Seabee Pantry. For more information, contact the chapel.
~ Praise and Worship - The Seabee Memorial Chapel is looking for new members for the Praise and Worship Team for
the Divine Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. If you can sing or play an instrument, you are invited to come share

Update NFAAS information - All military personnel and civilian employees are required to complete a semi-annual
update/verification of personnel information in Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS). To complete
your update/verification, please utilize the NFAAS site at https://navyfamily.navy.mil. Log in and update member
information under the “my info” tab, “contact information” section. Update family member information under the “my
info” tab, “family member info” section. Edit member and family member information as necessary and verify as current.

~ West Harrison High School - West Harrison High School is in need of five volunteers to assist in proctoring and
monitoring the hallways during the next administration of the Mississippi SATP tests March 19, 20, 21, 22 and 25.
Volunteers are asked to report to West Harrison High School, 10399 County Farm Road, Gulfport at 7:15 am each day.
Testing will be complete no later than 3 p.m. Please contact Julie Hadley, jhadley@harrison.k12.ms.us if you can support
this request.
~ 2013 Zombie Run - Ten volunteers are needed for the 2013 Zombie Run April 6, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Harrison
County Fairgrounds. All proceeds raised during the race will help cover the cost of surgery for 15 children in need of cleft
lip and palate repairs. The Zombie Run is new to the coast, but has been held in numerous cities throughout the United
States. Although there is a lot of fun and play throughout the race/obstacle course, the benefits are life changing. If you
are interested in volunteering, please contact kirsty_cullumber@navyfederal.org, or stop by the Orange Grove Navy
Federal Credit Union branch located in the Crossroads Shopping Plaza to sign up.
~ Orange Grove Elementary is in need of six volunteers May 1, to serve as test proctors and 35 volunteers, May
14, 15 and 16 to serve as proctors. Volunteers are asked to report to the school by 7:30 a.m. If you are interested,

~ Smokin’ the Sound and Smokin’ the Lake volunteers needed - Smokin’ the Sound, April 26 - 28 and Smokin’ the
Lake, May 4 - 5, are returning to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Race organizers are asking for volunteers to sell and attach
wrist bands to event spectators, director spectators to viewing areas and perform other volunteer services. Volunteers
will be provided with a meal. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Chief Ryan Wilber at ryan.wilber@navy.mil or
stop by the NCBC Public Affairs Office, building 1, room 205, no later than March 30 to sign up for a shift.

provide a place to unwind, to connect to families back home or whatever else is needed to ease the burden. Even if you
are not able to volunteer on a regular basis, our local USO Gulf Coast Centers often have programs and events that need
