Planned Power Outage - An electrical outage is scheduled for Feb. 18, 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., in buildings 142, 163,
295, 313, 367, Appleway Court and trailers. Buildings 295 and 27 will be on generator power. Thank you for your

NCBC Gulfport to participate in Citadel Shield - Due to Exercise Citadel Shield 2013, the Pass Road gate will be
closed Feb. 20, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Use 28th Street or Broad Ave. gates to enter or exit the base. In addition, Pass
and ID, Balfour Beatty and the Housing Office will suspend all operations during that time. Broad Ave. gate will be closed
Feb. 25, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Use 28th Street and Pass Road gates to enter and exit the base. In addition, buildings 1,
114, 119, 120 and PSD, will suspend all operations during that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this exercise
may cause. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. This annual training exercise will be conducted on
naval bases and installations throughout the continental United States. For more information about Exercise Citadel

NCBC PAO has FREE Mississippi Surge Hockey Tickets for the Feb. 22, Military Appreciation Night at the Mississippi
Coast Coliseum. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. as the Surge take on the Pensacola Ice Flyers. First come, first serve.
Please, no phone calls or email. Tickets available 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., until they are gone! We will NOT be open President’s
Day, Feb. 18. The PAO office is located in building 1, second floor, room 205, which is located by the Broad Ave gate.

NCBC Commissary Holiday Hours - President’s Day is Monday, Feb. 18. The NCBC Commissary will be closed, Feb. 18
- 19. Normal hours of operation will resume, Feb. 20. Operating hours at the NCBC Commissary are: Sunday, 11 a.m. -
6 p.m.; Monday, Closed; Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Thursday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.; Friday,
9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Hurry - Scholarships for Military Children Deadline Feb. 22 - The Scholarships for Military Children Program awards
$1,500 scholarships to students from military families. Eligibility requirements, application forms and other information
about the scholarships can be found at www.militaryscholar.org. This year’s applicants must submit an essay and
applications must be turned in to a commissary by close of business, Feb. 22.

The Thrift Shop on NCBC is requesting any ball gown donations you may have available. We are currently in the
process of planning the Seabee Ball fashion show and could use any gown donations. The day after the fashion show, the
gowns will be available for purchase. We will update the actual day of the show as soon as the space is reserved. The
Thrift Shop is in Building 29 and is open Tues/Wed/Fri from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please contact the store, 228-871-2070 or
the NMCRS office, 228-871-2610 if you need to set up alternative drop off times for any donations.

Seabee Family Day 2013 - Seabee Family Day 2013 will take place March 9, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the parade field. Join
us for free carnival rides, great food, mountains of military displays, free kids play area, petting zoo, music and much

71st Annual Seabee Ball – The Seabee Ball will take place March 23, 6 p.m. to midnight at the Mississippi Coast
Coliseum Convention Center. Guest speaker for the Ball will be Adm. William “Bill” E. Gortney, Commander, U.S. Fleet
Forces Command. Free child care is available at the Child Development Center with the purchase of a ticket. Youth/Teen
Lock-In, $15, March 23/24, 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. with purchase of a ticket. Ticket prices: E1 to E6: $20, E7 and above, and
civilians: $40. For menu, uniform and tickets see your command representative.

VITA now open - The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is located in building 60, room 265. Appointments for self-service
tax preparation are being offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and appointments for full-service for certain
circumstances are being offered Mondays and Thursdays. VITA is open Mondays – Thursdays, 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., and

NMCRS Visiting Nurse position open - NMCRS Gulfport is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to work with combat
wounded Marines and Sailors, and their families; must be able to travel an average of one week each month, with
occasional day trips out of the area; primary area of contact is in home setting; med-surg. background desired; prior
experience working with military and wounded veterans desirable. Must have current, active Mississippi RN license and
CPR cert., a good driving record; reliable transportation and valid auto insurance. Starting pay is $26.49/hour plus

Protestant Services include a Gospel Service at 8 a.m. and Divine Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Catholic Services include
Catholic Mass at 9:30 a.m. There is also a Catholic Mass Tuesdays at 11:15 a.m.
~ Seabee Pantry – The Seabee Pantry is always in need of donations to restock the food pantry. Donation drop-off sites
are located at the Navy Exchange, Chapel, Commissary, Fleet and Family Support Center and Armed Forces Retirement
Home. Everyone affiliated with NCBC can use the Seabee Pantry. For more information, contact the chapel.
~ Praise and Worship - The Seabee Memorial Chapel is looking for new members for the Praise and Worship Team for
the Divine Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. If you can sing or play an instrument, you are invited to come share
your gift.

NCBC Base Wide Housing Yard Sale - Balfour Beatty Communities will sponsor a Housing Yard Sale Feb. 16, 8 a.m. - 1
p.m. Housing residents are asked to put their sale items in their front yard. After the Yard Sale - Don’t want to take
that yard sale stuff back into the house or garage? Take it to the base Thrift Shop. After the Basewide Yard Sale Feb. 16,
the Thrift Shop in Bldg 29 (near the Commissary) will be open for donations only from 1 to 3 p.m. Your gently used
donations help young Seabees, Sailors and Marines and their families. During the regular work week you can also make
donations during store hours, Tues/Wed/Fri, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or contact the office at 228-871-2610 to arrange a drop off.

hockey rivals will prove to be a great match up. Tickets are only $6. The shuttle departs the Liberty Center at 6 p.m.
~ Give volunteering your best “can do” effort by signing up to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity this Saturday. The
shuttle departs at 7 a.m. promptly.

~ Great Day of Soccer - Great Day of Soccer needs you! Great Day of Soccer is still looking for volunteers Feb. 16, 8
a.m. - 3 p.m. at the County Farm Soccer Fields off of County Farm Road in Harrison County (north of Gulfport/Long
Beach.) Volunteers will be involved in judging about 400-500 kids, ages 4 - 18 in four events. Volunteers will receive

~ Ride to Recovery Gulf Coast Challenge - R2R will be traveling on the Gulf Coast, from New Orleans to Tallahassee
March 4 - 8 with over 200 Wounded Warriors participating. The USO Gulf Coast will be hosting a Casino Night March 4
from 6 - 10 p.m. in Mobile, Ala., and needs 20 volunteers to assist with this event and to volunteer as amateur dealers
