3. 1.Awareness and Sensitivity to the environment
Awareness is one of the fundamental objectives that any
subject of study offers.
Through environmental education we know the awareness
about the environment, the issues of the environment. Also the
solutions for the problems are generated.
Through awareness we properly understand about various
functions present in the environment.
4. 2. Knowledge and understanding of environment
Environmental education helps a person gain knowledge and
information about the current happenings in the environment.
As a basis for making informed judgments about the
environment people should develop knowledge and
understanding of

The impact of human activities on the environment.
The comparison between different environments both in the
past and present.
Environmental issues such as: (i) The greenhouse effect &
global warmming (ii) Acid rain and (iii) wate,soil andAir
pollution.
The importance of effective action to protect and manage the
environment.

It help to acquire values, strong feelings for the environment
and the motivation for actively participating in its protection
and improvement.It provide to individual the role of

Encouraging the development of attitudes in personal
qualities listed below will contribute to the process.

Six crosses curricular skills have been identified which are
necessary for environmental education.
It provide the skills for solving environmental issues.

10. 5.Evaluation to examine the environment
Encourage pupils to examine and interpret (Explain) the
environment from a variety of perspectives.
For example:-physical, geographical, biological, sociological,
economic, political, technological, historical, esthetic and
ethical.
11. 6.Participation makes responsibility and curiosity for
environment
When we dive deeper into a particular subject, we tend to get
more involved in it and curiosity developed.
When we know awareness,knowledge,skill and evaluation
regarding environment then a curiosity and responsibility is
developed to solve environmental issues and problems.
It also helps to encouraged to partition in saving and taking
care of the environment.
