2. Who would be the audience for your media product?
Audience – again age, gender, subculture – are
relevant.
Classification is also significant – how has the choice of
PG, 15 or 18 affected your creative decisions in terms
of implied or explicit violence, bad language etc?
You should add a photo as a visual illustration of
someone who represents your typical audience
member and label it.
QUESTION FOUR
3. Who would be the audience for your media product? Audience – again age, gender,
subculture – are relevant.
The target audience for Beautiful Psycho is both males and females in the age gap
between 18-25. We decided to go for both men and women due to the fact men
are originally more inclined to watch horrors/thrillers over women, but then on the
other hand Beautiful Psycho still has the romantic features in it as our female lead
Sabrina is longing and looking for love, the whole way through. Another reason
why we decided our target audience to be both genders is because during the film
the narrative will follow the male leads side and the female leads side on the whole
situation.
Classification is also significant – how has the choice of PG, 15 or 18 affected your
creative decisions in terms of implied or explicit violence, bad language etc?
We decided to classify Beautiful Psycho as being rated 18, this was decided upon as
a group as we looked over the classification statements of all of the different
ratings on the BBFC website, we also used previous research we had conducted.
Before we conducted our research we presume that it would be classified as a 15
due to the fact there were some blood and intention of harming another character
with violence. But by doing our research it became clear that our classification
should be 18.
18 classification
Very strong violence-Yes, at 18 violence can be strong and be portrayed with
strong detail. There may even be dwelling on the infliction of pain or injury, or
scenes of strong sadistic or sexual violence.

4. Question Four
Strong horror- The strongest horror works are passed at 18, they may contain strong
horror, gore or sustained threat and menace which exceeds the boundaries of 15
Strong blood and gore
Obviously hardly any of this criteria will be visible within the opening sequence, as it
would become to dramatic and give too much away. Then it would seem boring
towards the middle of the film if all the strong action happen within the first ten
minutes of the film. When watching a film you want the intensity and suspense to
grow as the film progresses.
