3. Design Philosophy
Design should be inviting, comfortable, simple, and beautiful. I
believe in surrounding yourself with things that you love. It is my
job to find out what that is and execute it to your wants and needs.
I am drawn to neutral colors, but pops of color can add an exciting
twist. A natural component is important in any design whether it
is in a material, color or print.
4. The San Francisco
International Airport is
developing an area for the
traveling professionals
called TouchDown. It
needs to be private, secure
and comfortable for the
travelers. The goal is for
TouchDown to be
functional and flexible.
There will be multiple types
of work areas whether a
traveler is working alone or
collaborating with others.
The design will be
reminiscent of early
aviation giving it an
industrial feel.

8. R.Riveter is creating a new
satellite office in the
Midwest. This handbag
company was created by
military spouses searching
for an occupation that is
flexible with their ever
changing lives. R.Riveter’s
goal is to “inspire pride
and patriotism” with each
customers bag.
The office design will be
more simple and classic
with a modern twist, much
like the handbags they
create. It will feel warm
and inviting. This will be
done with using natural,
textured materials, warm
colors and an open concept
to let in the outdoor light.
Employees will have some
privacy using shorter
cubicle walls while still
giving it an open feel.

12. MATC Makerspace
Milwaukee Area Technical
College has recently decided
to build a makerspace in
the downtown campus. The
makerspace needs to be
conducive for groups of
students to design and build
projects. It needs to be
functional with many work
areas and plenty of storage
to hold tools and materials.
Students need to feel
inspired to work in the
space. This will be
accomplished by creating
multiple semi-private work
areas with durable work
surfaces. The design will
also allow groups to have
their own storage. To spark
motivation pops of colors
will be used throughout the
space.

14. The Norris Family
have recently moved
into a home and want a
new design for their
kitchen. There needs to
be space for cooking,
eating, and storage.
The family wants it to
feel simple, relaxing
and functional. This
will be accomplished
with cool, tranquil,
neutral color palette,
classic cabinetry, and
updated fixtures and
finishes with plenty of
storage and work area.
With these updates the
Norris family will have
a kitchen that is
welcoming and
practical.

16. The Johnson family
have recently
purchased a new
vacation home and
want it to be
reminiscent of
Philippe Starck’s
contemporary, whimsy
designs. This will be
accomplished by
creating a home that
is contemporary,
bright, whimsical and
functional through
the use of unique
furniture, animated
accessories and
vibrant paint colors.
