During this period, I worked as a "Geologist" in the Exploration Division; my
technical experience includes the following:
- Well-Site Geologist:
My job includes:
1- "Geology" (Ditch Sample Description, Mud Log Lithology Interpretation,
Oil Shows Description & Testing, Well Correlation, Formation Tops, Fault
Cuts, Casing Point and Core Point Detection).
2- Witness on "Mud Logging" Measurements (ROP, WOB, RPM, Torque, SPP,
Depth Adjustment, PVT, Gas Chromatographic Analysis ...etc.), Lag
Check Calculations, Gas System Calibration and working on Win-log
Program (HRH) in Dumping Online Data to the Offline HRH and Inserting
Lithology, Drilling Parameters, Mud Measurements, Hole Deviation Surveys
Annotations.

- Petrophysicist:
- My job includes qualitative and quantitative evaluation of different
electric logs by using both manual and computerized processing analysis
using Schlumberger Interactive Petrophysics "IP" software.
- Complete old logs digitizing processes, I was objected and followed by
"IP" digital database construction.
- The following processes can I do by the software which Curve Splice,
Depth Shift, Filling Data Gaps, Spikes Filtration, Loading Picture Curves,
Interactive Dip Picking. Further more the main log analysis calculations
which calculating Temperature Gradient, Formation Water Resistivity
(Rw), Clay Volume (Vsh), Porosity, Water Saturation and Cutoff
Parameters Applying, with the assessment of customized user formulas
and different types of Cross Plots and Histograms.
- My job also includes core to log integration, by studying routine and
special core analyses for electric log analysis calibration.
- As a Petrophysicist, I also contribute in the interpretation of Dipmeter and
FMI logs for geological applications, such as fault cut detection and thin
beds interpretation.
- Exploration Geologist:
- During 2007 EHO acquired a new 3D seismic project covering
Yidma/Alamein & North Ras Qattara Concessions, so I was involved in
prospect evaluation and assessment (Trapping Styles, Prospect Timing
5. Validity, Source Rock & Migration studying, Fault Sealing Mechanisms,
Reserve Estimates…etc.).
- Preparing Complete Portfolios for the generated Leads and Prospects as
per their ranking (using RISK 2000 Software) and Preparing Complete Well
Justifications.
- Contribute in the discovery of Zain# 1x well (4600 BOPD) one of the
deepest oil discoveries in the northern Western Desert of Egypt (17000 ft.).
The discovery is a typical example of the inverted basins, the gained
experience is the awareness with the structural styles of the inverted
basins and all geological and geophysical problems associated with
such inversion.
- Assist in the preparation, presentation and implementation of the
exploration strategy and plans in the assigned areas.
- A geochemical study was performed with the drilling of Zain discovery, so I
acquired some geochemical knowledge such source rock evaluation
and maturity assessment, gas characterization, oil-oil correlation, oil-source
correlation and basin modeling.
- A bio-stratigraphic study also was performed for that discovery to
determine the geological age of the deeper layers from the micro-faunal
and paleontological contents where is no well correlation, so I
have a convenient knowledge about this field in the age dating and
paleofacies resolving.
- Development Geologist:
- Geological team member for the development of Alamein and Yidma
old fields, which considered the first oil discoveries in the northern
Western Desert of Egypt.
- Looking back for all drilled wells and finding some hidden potential zones
led to several successful testing results.
- Direct and focus the efforts to introduce new geological models by
working on the 3D structural and stratigraphic models and facies analysis
of the different potential zones in Alamein and Yidma Fields using the
PETREL software.
6. - Construct Alamein Field AEB# 1 Sand channel sand depositional model
for further development drilling plan.
- Contribute in the following up of the wells drilling operations, wells
evaluations and recommendations for testing oil potential reservoirs.
- Structure Modeling:
- Contribute in the construction of the structure model of Alamein / Yidma
structural ridge using PETREL software. The constructed model includes
the definition of the main sequence boundaries, horizons, well fault cuts
and missing sections on the software to integrate the well data with the
structural model.
