STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
• In June 2018 Thompson Reuters placed India in the first place as
most dangerous country for women due to the high risk of sexual
violence behind war-torn Afghanistan and Syria which ranked second
and third respectively.
• But despite various stakeholders pitching in and claiming of doing
their bit, more and more women are being raped, sexually assaulted
and eve-teased and this number is increasing every year.

• Each of the SHE Team is headed by a Sub-Inspector of
Police and consists of an Assistant Sub-Inspector or
Head Constable, a lady constable and two to three
male constables.
• Every unit of ‘SHE’ Team is headed and supervised by
a Deputy Superintendent of Police rank officer.
• As of now 100 SHE TEAMS are working under direct
supervision of Smt. Swati Lakra IPS, Addl.
Commissioner of Police, Crimes & SIT.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION
She teams is a first of its kind initiative in the country
launched by the Telangana government. .
SHE Teams have become a movement towards a women
safer environment; it is being expanded to other districts
in Telangana State.

According to government data Telangana had just 2.47
per cent women in the rolls of its police force which has
a sanctioned strength of 60,700 personnel, which is least
in any Indian state.

CONCLUSION

• Induction of more women in police department.
• 33% reservation of women at all levels in police
department.
• The govt need to conduct special recruitment
initiatives to achieve gender balance in police

• A green corridor to be provided for women related
offences
