1. Formation of All India Muslim League Dec 30, 1906
Causes Of Formation:
Death of Sir syed Ahmed khan , he strictly prohibited all muslims not to join politics until and
unless not getting western education but due to the current political scenerio in sub-continent
it was the need of the time to have a separate political party for muslims.
Partition of Bengal 16 oct 1905 , Lord Curzon visited bengal and observed that it was too big
province to handle by single government so he divided bengal into two parts i.e east bengal and
west bengal. This decision was naturally in favour of muslims because muslims were in majority
in east bengal so muslimsgot separate state. Hindus completely rejected the decision and they
started movement against this decision named Sawadeshi.
Simla deputation in oct 1906, it was the deputation consisted of 35 muslim members in the
leadership of Sir Agha Khan went to met Lord Minto , there he demanded for separate
electrorate systemfor muslims. Lord Minto shown positive response to them.

Mohammadian educational conference that was setted by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan in his time ,
use to held its annual session . In the annual session of Mohammadian educational conference
on 30 dec 1906 in Dhakka , it was attended by 3000 delegates and presided by Nawab Waqar ul
Mulk and at the residence of Nawab Saleemullah khan , the conference adopted a resolution
to form the All Indian Muslim League political party , Nawab Saleemullah presented the
resolution and was accepted by all delegates in the conference.
Sir Agha Khan was elected as the 1st president of the party , its general secretary was
Hassan Balgrami and Aligarh was its headquarters and they made a constitutional book named
Green Book presented by Maulana Mohammed Ali Johar.
Aims And Objectives:
 To be loyal with British.
 To protect the rights of muslims.
 To make the cardial relations with other communities.
In 1909 Minto-Morley reforms were presented and in the demand of muslims for separate
electrorate was accepted.

2. On 12 dec 1911 , bengal was once again merged and the decision was annulmented ,
due to the pressure of hindus on british government , hindus started violence and protested
every where in sub conitnent this was the reason that british government agreed to take its
decision back.
In 1913 AIML changes its objective no.1 from, to be sincere with british, to work with
other communties of India for self rule.
Muslims realised after annulment of bengal that,
 British government is not sincere with muslims.
 Under pressure of hindus british government can do anything.
 British government is only sincere with hindus.
Quaid e azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah joined AIML in 1913 after the change in objectives of
AIML.
