Responsible for monitoring financial stability for a leading reproductive endocrinology group.
Coordinated and reported on all clerical and financial operations for 10 clinics and 2 surgical facilities.
Reviewed and verified claims and statements daily to ensure expeditious distribution. Communicated
regularly with clinic managers regarding financial, scheduling, and clerical issues to facilitate prompt
resolution and remediation. Responsible for training of all new employees on Misys, Allscripts systems
and the Microsoft Office Suite to ensure their competence in usage of these software products. My
training processes included face to face, classroom and Go To Meeting webinars. Also responsible for
Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA compliance training and their oversight.
Selected accomplishments:
Established a weekly Performance Report that helped to recognize $80,000-$110,000 in
unbillable patient and insurance claims due to human error. As a result of my uncovering these
errors, I also put into place a solution that reduced our weekly unbillable claims to $1,000-$2,500.
Served as a key point of contact with all management personnel including the executive director,
financial officers, human resources team, billers, collectors, posters, and other colleagues to
ensure open and effective communication to maintain efficiency and financial solvency.

Tasked with recovery of $3.2M in insurance claims that were 90 + days past due. Established
relationships with key contacts at various insurance companies that led to recoupment of $2.8M within
four months.
Selected accomplishments:
Established the Insurance Benefit Verification Program that entailed direct communication with each
new patient’s insurance company to determine exactly which medical services would and would not
be covered.
Trained a staff of 18 direct reports to accurately communicate the insurance benefit verification
findings to each new patient so that they would know, prior to treatment beginning, what to expect in
regards to their personal financial obligation.
Established an Insurance Precertification Program in which I would notify, exchange clinical
information, and gain precertification (permission), before beginning any treatment for any insured
patient.
These efforts significantly reduced past due balances owned by insurance and helped maintain
accounts receivable manageability.
EVANSTON NORTHWESTERN HEALTHCARE, (ENH), Glenview, IL
OFFICE MANAGER (6/1996 – 12/2000)
Oversaw day-to-day operations for large medical practice with 8 internal medicine physicians and two
cardiologists. My staff also included registered nurses, medical assistants, lab technicians, billers, and
clerical personnel. Responsibilities included budgeting, insurance credentialing and coordination of care
between our patients and all staff members.
Selected accomplishments:
Ensured streamlined daily processes and workflows by effectively supervising support / office
staff and monitoring performance metrics.
Developed and implemented policies and procedures encompassing all areas of operations to
enable clinical staff to focus on patient care.
Acted as the liaison between the physicians of our group and the management heads at ENH to
insure that the clinical needs of our physicians were met and sustained and that the business
guidelines of ENH were upheld by our physicians.
Instrumental in transitioning our physicians and practice to a more compliant atmosphere
regarding the reduction of payments, gifts, honoraria, travel and other means which is now
recognized under state and federal law.
