involved into manufacturing of Milk powders, Infant weaning Cereals, Culinary
products, Chilled Dairy. Now Nestle Samalkha factory is actively engaged in manufacturing
of variety of dairy and food products viz. Cereal Foods, Infant Foods and Dahi etc under
different brand names and marketed in India and abroad.

13. STANDARDISATION
It is a process of standardizing the milk according to the mandatory norms of
Nestle and making it compatible for further processing.
14. SCANIMA
Scanima tank is a tank where the dry ingredients and the standardized milk is mixed well,
here the temperature is increased to 35 0 C – 37 0 C and pressure is kept 0.2 bar under
vacuum.

Spray drying is a transformation of feed from a fluid state into a dried particulate
form by spraying the feed into a hot drying medium
Egron is a type of spray drier involves atomizing concentrated milk into hot
stream,
the atomization is done by 4 to 5 pressure nozzle, by controlling the product flow,
airflow, temperature, it is possible to evaporate almost all moisture
A liquid feed entering the spray dryer undergoes a series of transformations
before it becomes powder. The changes are due to the influence of each of the
four stages involved in spray drying:-
● Atomization of the feed solution.
● Contact of spray with the hot gas.
● Evaporation of moisture.
● Particle separation.
