My name is Ryan Pattison and I just recently became
eligible to rent a car. I also am a professional designer.
As a designer, I communicate with people in an atypical
way. I think that this is ubiquitous throughout art. With a
unique platform I try and communicate truth. I don't
always succeed. When I do however; my approach is one
of humility and surrender, letting my ego by the way
side. As a professional designer I will say what is neces-
sary and appropriate by using my skills as an artist to
convey ideas that are true.

C AV IAN POP STOUT
Cavian Pop Stout is brewed atop the highest mountain of
the smallest planet in a midsized galaxy called Likkmer.
Twice in the past decade, Likkmer has come under the
control of intergalactic politicians. As a result of these
undertakings, Cavian Pop was forced to halt distribution on
a number of occasions. Despite these adverse conditions,
our brewers remain steadfast to bring you the highest
quality brew. Thank you for your continued support
through these difficult circumstances.

M U S I C _ B A B E L
Music Babel was conceived in a friend’s basement in 2010. Since then it has become an actual brand
for music lovers to rejoice. It includes a time-based ad that incorporates found footage of corporate
America and consumer culture juxtoposed with footage of music videos.

HOW_TO_SURVIVE_A NECLEAR_HOLOCAUST
A guide that is rather hopeless and
tragic, "How To Survive A Nuclear
Holocaust's" most pervasive element is
the dark overtones juxtaposed with
comic book style graphics.

Union City is an old industrial town located on the border of Indiana and Ohio. The Union City Arts
Festival was intended to breathe new life into a once thriving town.

The 2013-2014 Ball State Rec Guide
was intended to accurately convey the
energy of the school's recreation
center. To achieve this, I set out to
create a typeface using only triangles.
This resulted in letters that appears
structural like the skeleton of a build-
ing. The symbols seen in the top left
corner of each information page were
created to represent specific functions
within each department.

Ball State Outdoor Pursuits is a
department within the Rec Center
that organizes outdoor activities for
students. Each poster represents
each of the three main functions of
the department.

Ghost Modern is a fictitious band from another galaxy. They traveled here on a wave of stardust to tell us of
their home planet and the cultural norms that led to its self destruction.

#GHST_mdrn is a digital media art installation thatt seeks to comment on the ways we communicate in the 21st
century and how that communication effects our relatioships. Aided by dance music and video, the installation
took the form of a dance club of sorts.

The advertising campaign consisted of three sections. The first introduced an image. The second upheld the image
while introducing a name and a date of the event. The third and final stage introduced a new image and the
remaining necessary information.
