We are hiring an America's Director Sales Engineering & Professional Services to develop and execute
technical sales strategy and support products that untether the enterprise from traditional databases.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Customer Success, our candidate will serve a critical role in
closing the sales cycle and future growth in the America's region. This is both a quota-attaining role, to
capitalize on net-new business opportunities and leads, and a leadership role to build the pre-sales team
and educate across sales, marketing, and management. Plus, leading and managing the professional
services team.
Our ideal candidate will have consultative solutions for clients' business challenges in their business. He
or she needs to be extremely comfortable in domain knowledge and flexible enough to oversee creation
and distribution of technical resources to contribute in the successful execution of multiple sales cycles.
There will also be a heads-down need to organize, create, and lighthouse content individually:
PowerPoints, web conferences, white-papers, workflows, and RFP/RFIs.
If you have the technical sophistication, proven sales-closing mastery, and appetite for a challenging role
in a startup environment, we'd like you to earn and own this leadership position.
Expectations
• Drive VP of Sales and sales team to attain quota and yearly revenue expectation. The rest is calculus
and problem solving.
• Systemize, create best practices to pass down to teams and across new geographies vs. ad-hoc phone-
answering or fire-drills
• GTM: Be able to research, assess client pain-points and needs, and follow through with the best
solutions.
• Travel problem-solve, and sell: you will be frequently visiting customers, partners.
Experience
• At least 5+ Years in Pre-sales Management
• Managed stakeholders from CIOs/CTOs/CXOs to developers, understanding limitations but trying not
to take a "no, we can't do this" anyway
• Experience across channel sales from ISVs to vendors and consultancies
• Engaging speaker and a workshop leader are a huge plus

Skills and Qualifications
B.A. / B.Sc. or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years track record in software solution pre-sales, with database experience highly preferred.
• Expert knowledge of MariaDB and/or MySQL, certifications recommended
• Knowledge of one or more of the following database technologies
• NoSQL – MongoDB, Redis, Apache Cassandra
• SQL – Oracle, Sybase, DB2, SQL Server
• Knowledge of database design, administration, and architecture
• Knowledge of multiple programming languages (developer experience recommended):
• PHP, Java, C, C#, Python
• Experience with Web/Application environments recommended:
• Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, Lighthttd
• Sysadmin experience from the following operating systems:
• Linux RedHat/CentOS and Debian/Ubuntu
• Windows 2000 and 2003 server
• Familiarity of systems installation, configuration, monitoring & management
• Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet
• Zabbix, Cacti, Nagios, MonYOG, Prometheus
• NewRelic, AppDynamics
• Experience with virtualization & containerization software required:
• Xen, Virtualbox, Vmware
• Docker
• MesoSphere, Kubernetes
• Amazon EC2 and other cloud knowledge recommended
• Very strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Ability to work remotely.
