Stage 1: Copy the MBA purposes and courses from 
the American model 
Stage 2: Develop a Chinese version of the 
international model of the MBA 
Stage 3: Develop an MBA which has equal 
emphasis on western and Chinese philosophy and 
methods. Focus is on local purposes. 
Stage 4: Develop a distinctive Chinese MBA which 
emphasises the national interest of China.
Stages in the development of the 
Chinese MBA at GDUFS 
1. We began at Stage 1. 
2. The AMBA accreditation brings GDUFS to 
Stage 2. 
3. We strive for Stage 3. 
We call this the GLOCAL model. 
4. The dreamers want to talk about Stage 4 which
