3. What is Artificial
Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence is the development
of
computer systems that are able to
perform tasks that would require human
intelligence.
Examples of these tasks are visual
perception, speech recognition,
decision-making, and translation
between
languages.
The term Artificial
Intelligence was coined in
1956 by John McCarthy.
8. Turing test
• The Turing test is a test of a
machine's ability to exhibit
intelligent behavior.
Alan Turing is often seen as the father of
Artificial Intelligence.
10. Weak A.I
Machines with weak Artificial Intelligence
are made to respond to specific situations,
but can not think for themselves
Strong A.I
A machine with strong A.I. is
able to think and act just like a
human. It is able to learn from experiences.
Types of A.I
11. • A Robot is a electro-mechanical
device that can be programmed to
perform manual tasks or a
reprogrammable multi functional
manipulator designed to move
materials, parts, tools, or
specialized devices through variable
programmed motions for
performance of variety of tasks.
• An ‘intelligent’ robot includes some
kind of sensory apparatus that allows it
to respond to change in it’s environment
19. APPLICATIONS OF A.I
Expert systems.
Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Speech recognition.
Computer vision.
Robotics.
Automatic Programming.
20. Speech recognition.
The primary interactive method of
communication used by humans is not
reading and writing, it is speech.
21. Benefits of A.I
The most important purpose of
A.I. is to reduce human
casualties in
➔ Wars
➔ Dangerous Workspaces
➔ Car Accidents
➔ Natural Disasters
Or to just make everyday life
easier by helping with tasks
such as:
➔ Cleaning
➔ Shopping
➔ Transportation
27. FUTURE…!
But wait, don’t be happy. . !
It may end in other way too. Some day there will be a knock to
your door. As you open it, you see a large number of Robots
marching into your house destroying everything you own and
looting you.
This is because ever since there
is an advantage in the Technology, it
attracts anti-social elements. This is true
for Robots too. Because now they will
have full power to think as human, even
as of anti-social elements. So think trice
before giving them power of Cognition.
31. RECENT UPDATES
Microsoft wants to crack the cancer code using artificial intelligence
• Cancer is like a computer virus and can be ‘solved’ by cracking the
code, according to Microsoft
• Researchers are using artificial intelligence in a new healthcare
initiative to target cancerous
cells and eliminate the disease
• IBM is working on a program called Watson Oncology, which analyzes
patient health info
against research data
Google teaming up with the U.K.’s government health care system to
find if artificial intelligence
technology can help in detecting and preventing eye diseases and
blindness
