2. Introduction
There are various institutions which could
distribute our film and within this presentation, I
would be exploring and finding out these ways. A
media institution is basically the companies that
provides and publishes the media product. There
are also film Studio’s that may provide media
products such as; Major, Mini or Independent.
These media studios wouldn’t broadcast any
product, but they would broadcast something that
would appeal to a wide variety of audience. On
the other hand, there are also other media
institutions such as viral and television
programmes which may broadcast programmes.
3. Social Networks
Twitter- Our film could be distributed on twitter by someone posting
it up. It could then lead to other people retweeting and favouriting it
which builds up the form of distribution.
Facebook- Our film could also be distributed on Facebook by
someone posting it up. When it is posted, people may begin to like it
which shows they have enjoyed it and is automatically passed on
through there. On the Facebook ‘news feeds’, it would show that
people have liked the film which would encourage even more
people to watch it.
Blogger- Our film could also be distributed through blogger. People
may put in on their blog like I have which means that it is free for
people to view.
All these institution may broadcast our film because it attracts more
of a wider range of audience. Since our film cannot be accessed on
TV, it allows people to go online and watch it. It also provides
people to know how our film is rated. For example, if it is rated high,
it would encourage them more to watch it.
4. YouTube
This is a major institution that would distribute our film
for various reasons.. YouTube is the home to over 100
million videos broadcasted by different people. By we
putting our film on YouTube, it would allow anyone to
view our film and then judge it by liking it or unliking it.
Another thing is that it also provides people with the
free will to share it onto any social network of their
choice. This could websites like ‘Bebo, Facebook,
Twitter, MySpace’ etc. This would then be distributed
even further because people could then view the film
on those social networks. Another thing is that people
could subscribe to our YouTube channel which means
that they would see if we have published anything
new that they could watch.
5. Television Programs
E4- A television institution that may watch and could even distribute our film is E4. One main
reason is that our film is entertainment and the "E" in E4 stands for entertainment. Another thing
is that E4 is mainly directed at the ages of 15–35. This is well in the age range of our film which is
major advantage. Another thing is that E4 sometime broadcasts films which means that they
could even broadcast ours. They also broadcast programmes which are within our age range
such as ‘Youngers’. This is really affective because it would attract the same audience that watch
Youngers.
Film 4- Another institution that could distribute our film is Film 4. Film 4 is known for distributing
different genres of films such as action, thriller, comedy and many more. The programme is also
viewed by a wide range of audience which means that it would certainly have to be within our age
rage as well. They have broadcasted films which have been directed at our age range as well
such as ‘Adulthood’
BBC Three- Another institution that could distribute our film is also BBC Three. BBC have
broadcasted several programmes and films which have been directed similar to our age group.
For example, Kidulthood, Adulthood, Eastenders and more.
ITV- Another institution that could distribute our film is also ITV Three. ITV broadcast a wide
range of series, documentaries, films and more which some of them are produced within our age
group. This is also affective because it attracts the audience who have watched similar
programmes to that.
All these institution may broadcast our film because it attracts more of a wider range of audience.
Most of these institution attract a higher age audience, but by broadcasting this film, it would
attract an even wider audience starting from the youths. It also increases the views the institution
has which means that it could lead to their ratings increasing.
