2. FRONT COVER-MAIN IMAGE
• THE MAIN IMAGE OF MY PRODUCT DID NOT CONTAIN A DIRECT MODE OF
ADDRESS. THE MODEL HAD A CAP OVER HIS EYES WHICH MEANT THAT HE WASN’T
LOOKING AT THE CAMERA. THE REASON I HAVE DONE THIS IS BECAUSE MY TARGET
AUDIENCE ARE IN THE PSYCHOGRAPHIC OF ASPIRERS WHO CARE ABOUT MATERIAL
AND FASHION SO I CONCENTRATED THE IMAGE ON WHAT THE MODEL WAS
WEARING.
• THE RULE OF THIRDS IS USED IN THE IMAGE TO ENSURE THAT THE CAP, GOLD
CHAIN AND CAMOUFLAGE JUMPER IS EASILY VISIBLE AND IS THE FOCAL POINT OF
THE MAGAZINE.
3. FRONT COVER-COVER LINES
• THE COVER LINES THAT WERE USED HELPED ME ATTRACT MY AUDIENCE. THIS IS
BECAUSE THEY CONTAINED ESTABLISHED ARTISTS AND ANYONE WHO IS
INTERESTED IN HIP-HOP THEN THEY WILL KNOW WHO THESE ARTISTS ARE.
ALSO, AS THESE ARTISTS ARE SO ESTABLISHED AND POPULAR, ANYONE WHO IS
A FAN OF ANY OF THE PARTICULAR ARTISTS THEN THEY ARE LIKELY TO PICK
THE MAGAZINE UP.
4. CONTENTS PAGE
• WITHIN MY CONTENTS PAGE, THE FEATURE ARTICLES ARE WHAT WOULD
ATTRACT SOMEBODY TO BUY THIS MAGAZINE. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY CONTAIN
NEWS ABOUT POPULAR HIP-HOP AND GRIME ARTIST, BUT THEY DON’T GIVE
AWAY ALL OF THE INFORMATION SO THE READER WILL WANT TO BUY THE COPY
IN ORDER TO FIND OUT THIS NEWS.
• ALSO, THE IMAGES ON THE CONTENTS PAGE CONTINUE TO NOT USE ANY
DIRECT MODE OF ADDRESS, TO KEEP THE CONCENTRATION ON POPULAR
CLOTHING BRANDS SUCH AS SUPREME AND NORTH FACE.
5. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
• ON THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD, THERE IS AN ARTICLE ABOUT A NEW UPCOMING
HIP-HOP ARTIST WHO IS INTRODUCING A NEW STYLE OF HIP-HOP RAP. THIS
WOULD INTEREST MY AUDIENCE BECAUSE THE HIP-HOP INDUSTRY IS ALWAYS
CHANGING AND NEW STYLES ARE BEING CREATED ALL THE TIME. THEREFORE,
THEY WOULD WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT THIS STYLE OF MUSIC IS AND WHO
THIS NEW RAPPER IS.
• THE TYPOGRAPHY USED ON THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD IS THE SAME AS WHAT IS
USED FOR THE COVER LINES ON THE FRONT COVER AND THE FEATURE ARTICLES
ON THE CONTENTS PAGE WHICH KEEPS A HOUSE STYLE.
6. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
• IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT I CHOSE THE RIGHT IMAGES, COVER LINES, FEATURE
ARTICLES AND MAIN ARTICLES I CONDUCTED A QUESTIONNAIRE TO GET A VIEW
FROM PEOPLE THAT FIT THE CATEGORIES IN MY TARGET AUDIENCE. THIS
MEANT THAT I HAD EXTRA INPUT FROM RELEVANT PEOPLE ON HOW MY
PRODUCT SHOULD BE DESIGNED AND WHAT IT SHOULD CONTAIN.
7. LEXICON OF WORDS
• BEFORE DECIDING WHAT TO PUT IN MY MAIN ARTICLE AND WHAT FORM OF
LANGUAGE TO USE, I CREATED A LEXICON OF WORDS TO SEE WHAT TIME OF
WORDS ARE USED IN CONNECTION TO MY GENRE AND TO UNDERSTAND WHAT
THEY MEAN.
