This document provides a summary of the August 2016 issue of Vogue magazine. It describes the cover which features a large colorful image of a female model in an elegant dress facing a male fencer. Below the image are sections highlighting the contents of the issue organized into columns with page numbers. The second content page also features two smaller images and divides contents into columns under headings. Captions and credits are provided for the photographs along with contact information for the magazine at the bottom.
2. The first thing we notice is the main
image because of the specific color and
the style of its display. On the top corner
of the main image, the name of the
magazine is written in bold with a larger
font compared to the rest of the writing,
with the month of issue stated right next
to it. The contents of the magazine are
highlighted below the picture with their
page numbers under their respected
headings.
3. The image is placed on a completely
white background which further enhances
the colors of the picture therefore making
it stand out even more. The most eye-
catching aspect of the image is the
woman. With her confident pose and
beautiful, elegant black and gold dress,
the female model stands tall with her
balance. Whereas, the male model,
pointing the sword, easily blends in with
the rest of the picture making him of
slightly less importance. The image could
possibly be showing the high importance
of fashion or female dominance, seeing as
vogue is a woman’s fashion magazine.
4. Just below the picture is the
caption/heading ‘En Garde!’ which is a
French word meaning ‘warning’. The word
fits just about perfectly to the picture that
shows a male fencer with his sword
pointed directly in front of the female
model. The heading is a French word
since the magazine is originally a French
magazine. Below the heading is a very
brief introduction/credits, stating the
names of both models and their clothes’
designers, and the photographer.
5. Just below the main image, the contents
of the magazine are highlighted in a very
organized manner. The written work is
divided neatly into four columns. The
highlighted contents are distributed
under different sections. Under these
named sections are the page numbers.
Each page number given has a heading
along with a precise and concise detail of
the contents of the page. This precision
with which the contents are given helps
the reader easily find what they’re looking
for.
The left side of the footer contains the
name of the magazine and the month of
issue, while the right side contains the
official web address of the magazine.
6. The second content page is placed a page
apart from the first content page in the
placing in the magazine.
Both content pages are quite similar the
way their put together. Only, instead of
one main image, this page uses two
smaller images.
The contents are divided just the same,
with four columns under their respected
headings
7. The bigger image of fruits and vegetables
bring a picture of balance to the readers
head as well as healthiness which
complements beauty, and therefore
complements the magazine in some way.
Because the magazine was issued in
august, the caption reads ‘Summer
BLEND’, which is hints towards a perfect
summer eatable.
The second image is a copy of the cover
photo of the magazine with the
description stating the names of both
models, photographer, fashion editor, as
well as the designer whose clothes are
being worn etc..
