According to statistics from the UNWTO, international tourist arrivals grew by 5% in 2013, with a total of 1.087 billion arrivals. Europe received the largest number of arrivals at 600 million, an increase of 5.4%. Asia and the Pacific saw the strongest growth of 6% and 248 million arrivals. Overall, international arrivals have increased 61% since 1995 and continue an upward trend.
