Involved with these PTA Projects from Start to finish right from tendering stage, it was a design and construction
Project type. Design involved 3 phases, (15%, 85% and 100%). Project involved some client supplied or free issue
materials as well. RCR O’Donnell Griffin was the Principal contractor under which major sub-contractors we had
to manage were SIEMENS Ltd and AECOM for supply and design of 25kV Switchgear, SCHNEIDER for all SCADA
interfaces and commissioning works, TITAN involvement was only for communications design, HVLV involved in
supply, design and deliver the Substation buildings, and VALMEC and ALLWORKS were my Civil works contractors.
After formalizing the Project work matrix chart, I was involved straight on to creating a detailed schedule after
meeting PTA the client meeting key deliverable dates, Procurement of major materials sourced from overseas
and their lead times after raising orders played a critical role on this job.
Built 132/25kV Substation yard and a substation at City West location which serves NSR Joondalup line and
Fremantle line and also additional Substation at Stirling station 11km mark. Until the 85% design was approved
by PTA I was based at office taking care of all necessary paperwork such as but not limited to like, generating ITC’s
and ITP’s for Civil and Electrical works, tracking the schedule, getting quotes, developing Production controls,
procedures and systems involved. Liaised with GHD designers and provided all practical site relevant data to come
up with feasible design drawings.
Once PTA approved 100% design I was site based running multiple sites with sufficient lag kicked of with Civil
contractor works on ground, interfaced and managed all works as per the contract and agreed scope. Tracking of
Long lead materials, updating schedule, reporting client on weekly basis, procurement and supply of materials to
sub-contractors was my key role.
Since I hold PTA WPW05 and WPW15 tickets I am deemed competent to be a Rail safe supervisor to carry out
works with crews on the railway corridor/PTA network hence I started managing all the pending civil and electrical
works on multiple work sites during the pre-commissioning/commissioning stage and also during the Punch listing
activities. Attending PTA meetings on regular basis and active involvement and managing my our key sub-
contractors ,getting approvals from City Councils and liaising with Main Roads WA for traffic management
approvals on time helped this project succeed to meet all client requirements without posing any significant
