To acquaint the students regarding implementation of
Mckensey 7S model to evaluate Shaikh Zayed Hospital
AIM
Introduction
 Hospitals deals with life and health of their patients
 Good medical care relies on well trained doctors, high quality
facilities and equipment
 Shaikh Zayed Hospital is a tertiary care hospital , located in
Lahore
 The hospital had 360 beds at the time of commissioning,
however today they are 1050
 All the departments are recognized by the college of Physician
and sugeons of Pak for FCPS training
Introduction
 Facilities being offered at the hospitals are as under:-
 Emergency trauma centre
 Central Intensive care unit(ICU) with central oxygen system
 All sorts of Cardiac Operations and procedures e.g
Angiography Angioplasty cardiac bypass, heart valves
replacement
 Liver transplant
 Coronary care unit
 All kinds of Orthopaedic operations
Summary
To examine the current working and relations
hospital exhibits
Organisational alignment and performance
improvement in Shaikh Zayed Hospital
Understanding the core and most influential
factors in hospital strategy
Applying Mckensey 7S model
Quality assurance system almost in place
Treatment quality for relative performance
compared to other hospitals
Patient right and patient satisfaction
New technology e.g telemedicines , digital

 Strategy : Shaikh Zayed Hospital’s alignment of resources
and capabilities to “win” in its market
 Structure : How the hospital is organized. This includes roles,
responsibilities and accountability relationships
 Systems : Business and technical infrastructure of the
hospital that employees use on a day to day basis to
accomplish their aims and goals
 Shared Values : Set of traits, behaviors, and characteristics
that the hospital believes in. Hospital mission and vision
Methodology
 Style : Behavioral elements the hospital leadership uses
and culture of interaction
 Staff : Employees base, staffing plans and talent
management
 Skills : Ability to do the hospital work. It reflects in the
performance of the organization
Conclusion
The uses of the Mckensey 7S model can be as a static picture to
determine how effectively the Shaikh Zayed Hospital is
implementing its strategy. Also, it can be used two-fold with a
current state and an intended future state. By comparing the
current and future states, gaps can be assessed, which lead to
improvement and action plans
