Medical care is the major
function of the hospital organization. Hospital is an integral
part of the social and medical organization, the function of
which is to provide for the population complete health, the
hospital is also a center for the training of health worker and
for biosocial research(WHO).
This project report explains in short the
role and responsibility of the hospital supportive services
and the qualities for the persons and departments to ensure
smooth, efficient and comprehensive working of the entire
hospital to achieve its objectives
7. COMPANY PROFILE
Pushpagiri Medical College, Thiruvalla is one of the super
specialty multi disciplinary hospital in Kerala.
It is a charitable hospital in the private management
which has blessed a trial of excellence in the healthcare and
services.
In 1959, Zachariah Mar Athanasious, the third Bishop of
Thiruvalla started a small clinic with 8 beds and it was
named Pushpagiri Hospital.
The hospital was started with private medical facility to
women and children.
8. In those days Pushpagiri was the only hospital that created
to the needs of vast population in and around Thiruvalla
It has now developed in to 1200 bedded hi-tech super
specialty hospital with many facility and DNB courses in
Orthopaedics and surgery.
The hospital offers best care through 210 highly qualified
medical professionals, 400 committed nursing staff, 200
para-medical staff, 200 wage earning staff and 300 other
staff.
It provided latest medical treatment with advanced
equipments making diagnosis easy and accurate.

12. LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
•Due to the busy working schedules, interactions with
most of the company officials were not possible.
•The non disclosure of confidential report might have
affected the study.
•Time limitation.
•Lack of support from certain department due to their
work load.
•Information provided by the company is assumed to be
authentic..

26. Computerization of all departments is not effective.
The hospital has a strong commitment towards the
patients and society.
Proper Auditing is carried out in the hospital every year
to ensure financial transparency.
The hospital is an Eco-friendly organization which takes
systematic measures for the disposal of waste materials.

27. SUGGESTIONS.
•Reduce the charges for services.
•Increase facilities for training and development for all
employees.
•Suggestions from employees should be obtained before further
improvement of the organization.
•It is advisable for the management to take appropriate steps to
acquire sufficient permanent man power.
•More Medical Camps and Awareness program should be
conducted to increase the health awareness of the public.
•Shift timings should be rescheduled as per the convenience of
the staffs.
28. •Expensive medicines should be stocked in the Pharmacy and
it should be sold at reasonable price to the patients who
deserve it.
•Sophisticated machineries and equipments should be
installed in the hospital.
• Policy decisions must be taken by the management to
introduce updated technologies in different departments.
•Initiatives may be taken by the management to introduce the
mechanism of quality circles.
•Steps may be taken to centralize the billing section and to
introduce an efficient management system.
