GRIDS DESIGN COMPETITION
REPORT entry 6th MAY_BETTER BEFORE
a. An exhausted description of the model (drawings, pictures, whatever considered necessary)
b. Mathematical explanation of the grid behaviour (reasons of the design chosen to equal the four
reaction forces). We recommend you to apply the Compatibility Method and the formulas studied in
the subject Structural Systems to calculate the cross section mechanical parameters.
c. Reaction forces values monitored during the loading process. Failure causes description and failure
load value. Pictures of the test process. Average deviation of the reaction forces values. Model
efficiency.
d. In addition, you should propose design improvements for the model on one hand to balance the
reaction forces and on the other hand to improve the model efficiency.
