The Department of Real Estate (NUS DRE) traces its origin to 1969 when degree courses in
both building and estate management were first offered in the then Department of Building
and Estate Management. This was subsequently changed to the School of Building and Real
Estate. In June 2000 the Faculty changed its name to the School of Design & Environment. As a
result of this change Building and Real Estate were established as separate departments.
Contributing to Singapore and Beyond
Globally, NUS DRE boasts the largest real estate department across universities. The
Department seeks to advance holistic knowledge of real estate and urban development for
sustainable and inclusive urbanization in Asia through innovative research and teaching. The
Department has an excellent research track record and connection with global research
communities in real estate, urban economics and city planning. The NUS Institute of Real
Estate Studies (IRES) and SDE Center for Sustainable Asian Cities (CSAC) provide platforms and
support for multidisciplinary urban and real estate research. Our faculty come from elite
universities around the world and provide a wealth of cutting-edge academic research and
field expertise to our students.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND SCHEDULE
This Double Degree Programme (DDP) is a 2-year full-time programme. Students will spend 1 year at RBS
completing 35 modular credits (MCs) of MBA, and another year at NUS completing 32 MCs of MSRE.
Students are also required to complete a RBS dissertation during their two years of study.

TUITION FEES
The total tuition fee for the two-year DDP is approximately S$70,000 (RMB348,000).
Students will pay the tuition fee directly to the host university.
Information is correct at the point of printing. The Universities reserve the right to revise the fees, programme structure and schedule as appropriate.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
The DDP admission criteria satisfy all the criteria of the existing
NUS-MSRE and RENMIN-MBA programmes. Specifically, the
candidates must:
1. Possess a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant
discipline.
2. At least two years of relevant work experience upon
completion of bachelor’s degree.
3. Applicants whose medium of undergraduate instruction is
not in English will need to submit the TOEFL or IELTS result as
evidence of language proficiency. The proficiency will be
determined by the TOEFL score of at least 580-600 (paper-
based test), 237-250 (computer-based test) or 85 (internet-
based test), or a IELTS result of at least 6.0.
4. Applicants who are China nationals must pass China’s
national MBA admission examination. Applicants of other
nationalities are recommended to submit the GMAT result.
HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION

packages to Renmin University School of
Business as their results of the national MBA-
admission examination need to be
administered.
 Applicants of other nationalities can submit
their application packages to either NUS
Department of Real Estate or Renmin
University School of Business. Admission is
decided by a Joint Admission Panel comprising
faculty members from both NUS Department
of Real Estate and Renmin University School of
Business.

• International students Immigration and Checkpoints
Authority (ICA) student pass applications for full-time studies
in Singapore
NUS will assist international students in their Immigration and
Checkpoints Authority (ICA) student pass applications. Applicants
to submit valid international passports and requested supporting
documents.
• Proof Certificate for Overseas Studies and Overseas Degree
Accreditation Certificate for PRC Students
The NUS Degree is accredited by China’s Ministry of Education.
NUS will assist PRC students in respect of their overseas study
registrations with the China Embassy in Singapore upon arrival in
Singapore.

Students are also required to complete a RBS dissertation during their two years of study.   • 11. TUITION FEES The total tuition fee for the two-year DDP is approximately S$70,000 (RMB348,000). Students will pay the tuition fee directly to the host university. Information is correct at the point of printing. The Universities reserve the right to revise the fees, programme structure and schedule as appropriate.   • 12. ADMISSION CRITERIA The DDP admission criteria satisfy all the criteria of the existing NUS-MSRE and RENMIN-MBA programmes. Specifically, the candidates must: 1. Possess a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. 2. At least two years of relevant work experience upon completion of bachelor’s degree. 3. Applicants whose medium of undergraduate instruction is not in English will need to submit the TOEFL or IELTS result as evidence of language proficiency. The proficiency will be determined by the TOEFL score of at least 580-600 (paper- based test), 237-250 (computer-based test) or 85 (internet- based test), or a IELTS result of at least 6.0. 4. Applicants who are China nationals must pass China’s national MBA admission examination. Applicants of other nationalities are recommended to submit the GMAT result. HOW TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION  China nationals must send their application packages to Renmin University School of Business as their results of the national MBA- admission examination need to be administered.  Applicants of other nationalities can submit their application packages to either NUS Department of Real Estate or Renmin University School of Business. Applicants to submit valid international passports and requested supporting documents. • Proof Certificate for Overseas Studies and Overseas Degree Accreditation Certificate for PRC Students The NUS Degree is accredited by China’s Ministry of Education. NUS will assist PRC students in respect of their overseas study registrations with the China Embassy in Singapore upon arrival in Singapore.
