5. • This star stands out
among thousands,
shows what genre the
movie is going to be
and the fact is zooming
in at speed shows t hat
it will be a fast paced
movie and also gets the
audience interested as
it is the establishing
shot sets the tone for
the rest of the trailer.

• It tells you that its going
to be out this year but
not when, but keeps the
audience waiting as it
just says this year,
doesn’t say when the
release day is, which
builds up on the
suspense and makes the
audience watch the
trailer till the end to
discover when it is
released.
7. Screenshots
• Gives away a bit of the story
line gives away that there
going to be a sci-fi element to
the film. When they said inner
city you would never think
they meant a teenage gang.
This is the USP (Unique Selling
Point) for the film as these are
the 2 most contrasting
subjects which would attract
audiences to come watch it.
Its very intriguing as it
includes the binary opposites
system (aliens v humans) but
with a very new, different and
unique twist to it.

• Body language makes him
look very aggressive, and
makes him looks as if he is
getting ready for battle.
This goes against the
stereotype of black
teenage boys from London
estates, as in movies
they're are usually the
trouble makers. The fact
he has his backed turned
to the camera, and the
medium shows you what
he is looking at shows that
they want the audience to
feel as if they are in his
shoes.
9. Screenshots
• The mist makes it very
difficult to see who it is,
but his body language
makes him look heroic,
but could also be
interpreted as he looks
scared like he is running
from something. The
lighting shows the fact he
is scared and running
from something, the
colour yellow also helps
this as it often means
cowardice.
10. Screenshots
• They look very
unorganised, like sheep
waiting for one to move,
before they all move.
They way they are
positioned they look like
scobby doo and crew, this
coincide with the plot of
the movie as the yare
trying to find out the
mystery of the aliens and
why they are there.
11. Screenshots
• Same writing in all three (And
also the same producers of
HOT FUZZ) movies, which kind
of link all the movies and is
kind of a trademark writing for
the producers. They used the
same actors in Shaun the dead
and hot fuzz, but not in this
movie, which shows that they
wanted to focus on teenagers
and also says that could have
looking for a change of target
audience.
12. Screenshots
• The claws and teeth are mad
bright blue to indicate that they
are the only weapons they have
which highlights the fact they
are not intelligent species. This
goes against the usually
stereotypical view of as aliens
are usually represented as
intelligent species but here they
made look like just animals, I
say this because of the body
language of the alien which
looks like a dog playing fetch
because of the camera angle.
This also the first image we see
of the aliens so I believe they
wanted us to be intimidated a
bit to bring a bit of a thrill to the
trailer.
13. Screenshots
• The water gun and the
kids arguing brings a
comedy feel to the
trailer/film and also
reminds us of how this is
attacking the stereotype
of young people
teenagers. This is a good
way too close out the
trailer very calm and
mellow after the climax
of the trailer.
14. Screenshots
• As usual the font contrasts
the writing to make it
stand out more. The
background is scratched
and tarnish just to remind
of the and the fact is the
same colour as the aliens
teeth reminds you of their
presents in the film. This
name of the film is
revealed right at the very
end in Arial capital
block/bold type font.
15. Screenshots
• This kind of like an
establishing shot but
at the end of the film,
which tells where the
film is set. And also
when because of the
lights. They used a
long shot while
looking up at the
flats/block .
