Thiscomponentisdesignedtogive youopportunitiesto analyse andcritically
reflecton whatyou are learningfromthiscourse.Thiswill involve writingbrief
reflectiveessays,summarynotesand questions,etc
Minimumexpectations:
• Thiscomponentistiedheavilytoyourattendance,requiredreadingsandclass
discussions.Youmayfinditdifficulttodothese activitiesif youare notinclass
and participatinginclassdiscussions, andif youare not keepingupwiththe
requiredreadings.
• Reflectionandwritingare critical partsof learning,soplease don’tjustgo
throughthe motion.
• Whenyouwrite,please evaluate yourownthinkinginrelationtowhatyouare
learning,inameaningful andhonestway.(e.g.One waytodothisisto consider
the principleswhichguideyourthinking,compare themwithwhatyouare

Curriculum& Instructional DesignProject
The purpose of thisexercise istoprovide youwithanopportunityto analyse
differentcurricula(in yourcollaborative group) anddesigningalessonplan
basedon one of the respective curriculathatthe groupanalysed(eachindividual
withinagroup).
Minimumexpectations:
• Each group of 3-4 people will analysethree orfourcurricularespectively(e.g.
pre-universitycurriculafromSTPM,matriculation,A-levels,IBorsecondary
curriculafrom SPM,GCSE, IGCSE and IB MYP). You can alsoelectto explore
curriculafrom othercountriese.g.Finland,Singapore,HongKong,Canada,
Australiaetc,butdo use a Malaysiacurriculumas a base for comparison. Use a
table to summarize the comparisonsfollowedbya3-5 page analysis,basedon
the followingguidingquestion:Whatarethesimilarities and differencesof the
curricula you haveanalysed,and asa result whatare therespective strengths
and weaknessesof each curricula?
• Each individualwithintheirrespective groupswill designa(ora seriesof)
lessonplan(s) basedona commontopicidentifiedbythe group.Eachindividual
will write abrief analysisandreflectionof theirlessonplan –1 to 2 pages,in
