A marketing campaign was launched for The Hangover Part III including trailers, posters, apps, games, and social media pages. Two trailers were released showing new footage to generate anticipation. Over 18 similar posters were used featuring changing images but the same layout. Apps included sounds from the films and photo booths. The film's Facebook and Twitter pages updated fans. An official website provided information on the cast and film showtimes. The multi-pronged campaign aimed to build hype among existing fans and notify them of the new installment's upcoming release.

A huge media campaign was released prior to the
films release in order to notify the existing fans
of the hangover trilogy ‘the next chapter’ was
about to be released.
Many of the fans had waited in anticipation for the
first trailer to be released and when a second
was released revealing new footage it sucked
them even more into the trilogy as they were
eager to find out what happened next...

similar but they each show different insights into
the film. This is often done to get the audience to
watch them as they think the second trailer may
contain new shots from the film.
• Both of these trailers reflect a similar type of
construction to the previous ones in the trilogy,
the same template is used to satisfy the existing
fans as they are likely to want something similar
to the Hangover 1 and 2.

• Often many posters are used which use a similar
layout and they all use similar features such as
tag lines and titles.

they all are very similar and only the images

films and watch small clips as well as take photos and put them in the ‘Hangover’ situation.

Here you can see the Facebook and Twitter pages for the Hangover
Part III, both of them post pictures and quotes from the film and
people can comment or tweet to them what they think of the film.
Many films have a social networking page as people spend a lot of
time on them, also the target age group for this film will be the main
users of these websites so the media campaign are advertising in
places people are most likely to see the promotion.

Almost every film will now have a official website
for it where people can find out about the film,
look at photos and information about the cast as
well as find out where the film is showing in
nearby cinemas. These websites are always
advertised at the end of trailers shown and
especially on the TV.
