Film Opening Script
Scene: Exterior. Night
Dark night, CCTV caught two mysterious figures approaching a door to an office. The taller
character, STEVE BENNET, approaches the door first holding what looks to be a key. The
other man, PETE LANGLEY, watched and waited for the other character to do something.
Mysterious man
Hmmmmmmm.
Steve
Come on Pete, we need to get in here so we can find some
evidence for what happened.
Pete
I know but should we really be doing this?
Steve
Yes, we should. So it did. Right, don’t make a lot of noise or it
might trigger the alarm.
Pete
I found his computer.
Steve
Great. …Oh wait, what could his password be?
Pete
Maybe it is his wife’s name... Um…. DAISY!
Steve
So it is. Right, we need to find anything that could explain why he was
killed.
Pete
We don’t know if he was actually killed.
Steve
Come on. You and I both know that it wasn’t an accident.
MediaCoursework
OliverBooth
Someone obviously wanted to make it look like he
killed himself. The note. The pills. The knife. Come on, it’s
all too good to be true.
Pete sees an encrypted file called ‘Top Secret’.
Pete
Look, what’s that. It looks to be some sort of secret file.
Steve tries to open it but it doesn’t allow him.
Steve
Right, we can’t access it here. Pete, did you bring the memory
stick.
Pete reaches into his pocket.
Pete
Here it is.
Steve plugs the memory stick into the computerand clicks a button.
Steve
Right. We have to make this quick and get out of here before
anyone notices.
Steve takes the memory stick out of the computer and both of them head towards the
door.
Steve
Come on, hurry up. We need to get out of here!
Both of them exit the office and start walking to the entrance. Pete notices a vehicle
parked round the corner of the building.
Pete
Was that car there all the time we’ve been here.
Steve isn’t taking much notice of what Pete is saying.
Steve
It’s probably just someone working late. Don’t worry.
A car pulls up at the entrance and picks up Steve.
MediaCoursework
OliverBooth
Steve
Are you sure we can’t give you a lift home? I don’t mind.
Pete
Don’t worry. My girlfriend will be here soon. See you tomorrow.
Steve approaches Pete and gives him a hug.
Steve
You stay safe and tell Kimmie I said hi and congratulations on
the engagement. I don’t know what I would do without you.
Pete
Yes, I will. See you tomorrow at work.
Steve gets in the car and drives off. Then, the camera cuts back to the building where the
car was parked. As soon as they left, it’s headlights turned on and the engine started. The
camera then cuts to Steve in the car, trying to access the memory stick on his laptop. He
encrypts the file and finds a blank document so he opens it. Steve then sees a list of names
of people that work in the same organisation as him. He notices that there are names
crossed off and realises that the next name on the list is Pete’s name and it’s circled. Steve
attempts to phone Pete to warn him of any danger.
Steve
Come on, Pete. Pick up the phone. Pick up the bloody phone!!!
Steve
Come on, driver. Put a foot on it!
The camera cuts to Steve going down the road and the driver starts to talk.
Driver
Sorry, Steve. I can only drop you of here. Is that fine.
Steve quickly jumps out of the car.
Steve
Yes, that’s fine. Take the day of if you want.
Steve starts to walk down a dark alleyway whilst trying to phone Pete but he doesn’t pick
up. Steve starts to run until he reaches the end of the alleyway when he starts to hear a
car. He reaches the road and sees a car coming at some speed up the road. Steve then
realises that it’s the same car as the one that was in the car park. It then cuts to a slow
motion scene when Steve is looking at the car going passed. Steve then starts to run down
the road.
MediaCoursework
OliverBooth
Steve
Oh no. It’s the same car Pete was telling me about.
Steve stops running. He then picks up his phone that he dropped and immediately calls
Pete’s girlfriend but she doesn’t pick up either. Steve then immediately starts to run down
the road, towards Pete’s house. It then cuts to him approaching his house. He then realises
that the front door is already open so he runs up to the door to inspect.
Steve
Pete. Pete. Are you here! Kimmie. Are you here.
Steve starts to walk in the house and sees a knife on the floor. He then runs to the lounge
door and opens the door. He then sees Pete on the floor, with what looks to be a blood
stain on his shirt.
Steve
Pete. Pete. Please wake up. Please wake up. Think
about Kimmie. Think about your future with her.
Pete does not respond to anything Steve says. Steve goes to pick up his home phone to call
the ambulance and suddenly hears a phone ringing. Steve looks around the lounge and
sees Pete’s phones ringing. He approaches it and sees that it is from ‘Unknown’. Steve
slowly picks up the phone.
Steve
H….H…. Hello. Hello. Who is this?!
Mysterious man
I know who you are and I know what you have done.
You should’ve have just listened to him. If you had listened to
him, I would not have had to do what I did to him but I had no
choice.
Steve
Who are you and what do you want?!
The Mysterious man does not respond at first.
Steve
Well…. What do you want and why did you have to
do that to him!?!
MediaCoursework
OliverBooth
Mysterious man
You know what I want. I want you. You know too much
and I can’t have you spreading anything. I’ll give you
24 hours to give yourself or I’ll hurt your precious Martha.
Steve
How do you know about Martha?
Mysterious man
I know a lot about you Steve Bennet. Now, if you don’t do as I say,
I won’t stop until the last person you care about is dead!
Steve
I will never give myself up. I know that it was
you who killed the other employees and I will do everything
in my power to prove that you killed both them and my partner
Pete.
Mysterious man
Well done. It was a real shame. They seemed like such a nice
people but the problem was that they knew too much. It was the
same thing with you friend. You should’ve seen the pain that he
went through. It was YOUR FAULT!
Steve
You better watch your back. I’m coming for you and I will
never give up until you are dead. You hear me… DEAD!!!
Mysterious man
…. Good luck.
The mysterious man puts the phone down abruptly. The screen then blacks out and all you
hear is dialogue from Steve in the future.
Steve
My life as you know it has changed. I can no longer spend
afternoons with my family because I am afraid that something
MediaCoursework

would happen to them. My family lives in fear but I don’t! I
will get to the bottom of this I will find out who the killer is?!?
End of film opening.
