2. INT. KITCHEN – DAY
ALICE makes a cup of tea and calmly switches on the radio. She
does all these actions leisurely and eats a biscuit
CUT TO
EXT. STREET – DAY
JOE Sprints down a street looking over his shoulder.
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
ALICE sits down in on a sofa and sips her cup of tea slowly
CUT TO
EXT. STREET – DAY
JOE continues sprinting down the street a look of desperation on
his face
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
ALICE sips her tea again and we hear a large bang against the
window and she is startled and spills tea on herself
JOE is banging on the window
JOE
LET ME IN!!!!
ALICE looks shocked and freezes
JOE
(mouths and points to the door)
Open the door!
CUT TO

3. INT. HALLWAY – DAY
ALICE opens the door and JOE barges in
JOE
Wait till you hear this!
ALICE
(trails off)
What on earth… What happened?
We follow ALICE and JOE through the hallway and JOE walks into
the sitting room, sits down where ALICE was sitting and takes a
bite of her biscuit.
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
JOE and ALICE sit opposite each other in silence
ALICE
(stares in disbelief )
Are you gonna tell me what’s going on?
JOE holds up one finger, gesturing for her to wait until he has
swallowed
JOE
Right do you promise not to interrupt me?
ALICE
(Hesitantly nods)
Yes
JOE
Okay, well I was at the shops like half an hour ago…
CUT TO
INT. SUPERMARKET – DAY

4. We see JOE enter a supermarket with headphones in
V.O JOE

And I was just-
CUT TO
INT.SITTING ROOM – DAY
ALICE
What were you buying?
JOE
That’s really not the point of this story… and it was
digestives…
CUT TO
INT. SUPERMARKET – DAY
JOE is walking up an aisle, bopping to his music. He is strolling and
looking up and down the shelves. He stops and picks up and item
and inspects it, after a while he begins to notice that a woman is
staring at him. JOE quickly glances at her and moves on.
Joe walks down an aisle and quickly looks behind him and notices
that the woman is following him. He looks confused and increases
his pace.
He hides behind an aisle and waits to see the woman, who looks
around and then moves on. JOE smirks and carries on looking along
some shelves. Joe stops to look at an item and notices the woman
on the other side of the shelf and he peers through then he quickly
moves on.
JOE opens the door to a freezer and looks inside. He shuts the door
and we see the woman next to him JOE gasps. She smiles at him
and walks away.
JOE joins the queue behind the woman
WOMAN
Hi there, didn’t mean to stare so much. I just wanted to
say that you look exactly like my son who passed away
a few years ago.

5. THE WOMAN takes an old polaroid out of her pocket and hands it to
JOE who looks at the picture, it looks nothing like him. He hands
the picture back.
JOE
Oh…I’m so sorry to hear that.
WOMAN
No don’t be silly, just a bit of a shock to see you that’s
all.
Would it be okay if I gave you a hug?
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
ALICES MOUTH IS WIDE OPEN
ALICE
You didn’t?!
JOE
What else was I supposed to do? You can’t say no in
that situation can you?
CUT TO
INT. SUPER MARKET – DAY
JOE puts his headphones back in watches the woman walk away
and he's next in the queue. JOE’s items are being scanned
V.O JOE
So anyways, the woman left and I was about to pay for
my stuff and then the cashier said-
CASHIER
That will be ninety eight pounds, twenty please
JOE looks down to his items, he stares at his lonely packet of
biscuits.
JOE
(Shocked)

6. For this????
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
JOE
And she was like “your mum said you were paying for
her items along with yours”
ALICE
Your mum?!
JOE
Yeah this woman had obviously told the cashier that I
was her son, and the cashier saw us hug-
ALICE
So what did you do?
JOE
Well I ditched my shopping and began running out to
see if I could catch her
CUT TO
EXT. CAR PARK – DAY
We see JOE running out looking around for the WOMAN. He spots
her, as she franticly tried to get her car door open
V.O JOE
I saw her loading up her car and she saw me and began
trying to get her car door open
CUT TO
INT. SITTING ROOM – DAY
JOE
And that’s when I just like grabbed her leg
ALICE
You grabbed her leg???
JOE

7. Yeah and I just started pulling it, JUST LIKE IM
PULLING YOURS!!
JOE stifles a giggle. He picks up the same biscuit and eats it smugly.
Alice just stares at him, fed up.
