1) Shane discovers his friend Jerry dead in the forest after hearing his screams. He sees a dark figure standing nearby. 2) Weeks later, Shane is having nightmares and refuses to go to counseling. He zones out while walking and has a near miss with a car. 3) At counseling, Shane reveals that he saw who killed Jerry but does not provide details before his father interrupts the session. The story implies that Shane discovers evidence that his father was the one who killed Jerry.

where are you?? (loud)
shane runs towards the sound of the screaming
Shane
Jerry where are you??
he carries frantically running but seems to be in the
same place.
He slips and falls down a mud slide which is when he
discovers his friend
Shane
Jerry whats happened????
jerry
Jerry answer me please
shane starts to cry with the realisation his friend is
dead. He turns around to find a dark figure standing
within the distance.
shane
who are you?
The figure stands still and continues to stare at the
boy.
shane, stands up as starts walking towards the figure
figure turns and runs off as the boy gets closer.
fades out to a black screen.

3 weeks after
int. boys bedroom
Boy lies in bed awake has he stares at the wall in front
of him until the sound of his alarm goes off.
The door knocks and the boys father enters the room.
father
you need to get up you've got counselling

I'm not going its not working its a load
of shit.
father stares at shane with a puzzled look on his face as
his sons personality has changed.
int. street outside
Boy starts walking down the street. This will turn into a
tracking shot where we see the boy zoned out as
everything around him is happening. As he starts to cross
the road a car comes round the corner and slams the
brakes as he avoids the child.
stranger
you need to watch where you are going
mate!
The boy continues o stare at the driver and doesn't have
any expression on his face. The driver shakes his head in
disgust and drives off.
Shane starts to look around as people seem to be staring
at him he goes into a state of shock and starts to panic
as he feels like everyone is pointing and laughing at
him.
fades out into the dark screen

4. .ii
Int. support room
A shady room where the boy is sitting on the chair
looking zoned out like the street scene before. His hair
looking un even as he slowly runs his hands through it.
The support worker looking puzzled as the boy stares
right through her and sees the vacant person sitting in
front of her.

shane tell me whats bothering you.
silence as the child doesn't respond to what the support
worker is saying to him.
support worker
shane if we don't talk about it then you
wont feel any better and the pressure
will slowly eat away at you.

whats the point
support worker
because if we talk about what happened
that night then you will slowly be able
to move on.

he will still be dead so why bother
wasting both of our time.
support worker
no but its not about him its about you
getting better.
the room remains silent. The atmosphere remains thick and
the awkward silence rises.

support worker

to me about it. this will slowly heal you
and you will be able to continue with
your life

The two look at each other while tears start to roll down
shane face. The support worker goes to say something but
stops her self.

Horror of shock on the support workers face when she
hears this come from shane.
support worker
do you know the person who did it.
Shane looks at the support worker and goes to respond.
The door opens quickly and Shane dad bursts through the
door.

because the session was meant to finish
10 minutes ago.
support worker
Can you just give us a minute we are just

Shane and his father begin to leave the support centre
and walk towards the car.
EXT. INTO THE STREET

shane’s father
because I'm your dad, and you have being
through a lot recently.

fade out to a dark screen.

shanes dad shouts up stairs

I'm just going to the shop for some fags
and crisps. do you want anything?

na i don't want anything.
the front door slams and shane heres the weird crash come
from inside his fathers room. he gets up and walks
outside his bedroom towards his fathers room. he opens
the door and finds a glass smashed on the floor. as he
walks into the room he sees a wall covered in pictures of
his friend and sees the photo of him holding him as he
dies. its then the horror on his face has he notices it
was his father who killed him.
