2. What are you currently doing to pursue a career in your chosen field?
I am not looking for a career in the field that I am currently working on in college as I have no interest in the
course and do not see a future for me within this field.
3. What do you plan to do next in the pursuit of your chosen field?
For my plan do to what I want to in the future, I am planning on passing this course to get either a total of 128
UCAS points or an equivalent of an AAA or AAB grade to go onto a Newcastle University to study psychology. To
achieve this, I will really need to try my hardest in this upcoming year to achieve these goals to move onto what I
want to do with my future.
4. Select at least three potential University courses that would help you further your career aims. You should state
what the course is, which university it is run by, the entry requirements and why you think it would help you.
Newcastle University- Psychology: the entry requirements for this course is either an AAA or a AAB and this would
help as it is one of the best psychology departments in the whole of the UK, which will help me with my career in
this field.
Northumbria University- Psychology: the entry requirements for this course is 128 UCAS points, this would help
me as it also one of the best psychology departments but easier to get into and not as good as my first option. This
will also help me in the future career within this field.
Staffordshire University- Esports: the entry requirements for this course is either 112 UCAS points or a DMM
grade. I would not be too happy to join this course but it is the only other option for me if I do not make it into the
other two courses that I actually want to be in. I don’t think this will help me much if even at all in my future as I
also don’t see a career in this.
5. What type of work experience do you think you would need to help you in your future career? How might you
be able to find work experience placements? If you could pick anywhere to do work experience, where would it
be and why?
I am not too sure if work experience would help me that much with the courses I have chosen as they don’t need
work experience but research and knowledge and work experience can not be done for these courses to the point
where it’s beneficial. To find work experience I would either ask around locally in places I think would benefit me
in this course or look online to see if any company is taking on people for work experience. If I had to pick work
experience I would like it to be either local to me or where I would want to go to University to get more familiar
with the surroundings.
6. What specific skills do you need to develop? There should be a mix of industry specific skills and also personal
development points. When you identify these, come up with suggestions as to how you might make those
improvements.
Being a fast leaner and taking a multitude of notes would help me massively in the chosen career paths. If I was
able to make it onto the psychology courses, I would also need to do a lot of research at home and take it seriously
and work on my personal motivation as I have struggled with that massively over the past 2 years to the point
where it has ruined my chances in passing a course and doing well and helping me get better and get close to
achieving what I want to do in life, this is why I am already 2 years behind what I should be.
7. In 5 years time I will…
Hopefully have passed this course with flying colours and be in Newcastle University studying psychology and
looking into a future job to settle down in and be interested in so that I enjoy my life choices.
