October 2015 to Date EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT to the Director of LIVERPOOL SCHOOL OF
TROPICAL MEDICINE (temporary Maternity leave cover)
Supervision and support of Personal Assistant
Assisting in the organisation of VVIPs (including George Osborne MP and Bill Gates (Microsoft).
Undertaking research projects with various outside bodies on behalf of the Director, being aware of
deadlines at all times.
Full day to day duties of the Executive Assistant.
May 2002 to September 2015 PERSONAL ASSISTANT at MERSEYSIDE FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE.
13 years supporting the Deputy Chief Executive of a respected and recognised brand.
Supervision and support of Clerks when placed in department.
Undertaking research projects on behalf of the Deputy Chief Executive.
Liaising with outside organisations via email, phone and written correspondence, including the Police
and Ambulance Services, Dept. of Communities and Local Government, politicians, the press, charities,
community organisations, members of the public and private sector companies.
Regularly liaising with Elected Members (Councillors and the Chair) to book travel and conferences and

Assisting with the organisation of visits of members of the royal family, MP’s and senior officers from the
Department of Communities and Local Government.
Voluntary participation in multi-agency operational exercises, as a casualty and administrator.
Voluntary attendance at meetings and Secretary role at Firefit charity Board meetings outside normal

Administrative support for the Blue Lights Horse of the Year Show and World Firefighter Games in

Supporting the Executive Management Team in fulfilling the organisation’s Vision and Objectives.
Drafting reports on MODGOV (internal report circulation programme), correspondence, emails etc, on
behalf of the Deputy Chief Executive.
Call screening and filtering enquiries as appropriate.
Acting as Gatekeeper with visitors, and prioritising urgency of appointments.
Distribution of incoming mail to appropriate sections.

creating programme and billing delegates.
Auditing and ordering of stationery items through EPROC (internal procurement system).
Assisting in administrative work, using respective internal electronic systems.
Diary management and dealing with conflicting appointments.
Minute taking at Executive level meetings.
Monitoring of manager’s Inbox in his absence, and correspondence on a daily basis.
Booking travel (including international) (flights, trains and hotels), always seeking Value for Money and
processing invoices against respective budgets.
Monthly travel expenses.
Responsible for corporate credit card for travel and miscellaneous office supplies.
Responsible for setting up electronic filing system for department, in constant use.
