A dedicated HR Professional with 5+ years’ experience managing full spectrum HR and administration services and

1. July 2017 to Current: Human Resource Business Partner/Manager Operations - British American Tobacco (BAT)
PNG Ltd
BAT PNG Ltd is a leading global tobacco company in the manufacturing industry in PNG with its factory based in Madang
and head office in Port Moresby. Currently I am managing over 117 permanent employees plus casuals and contractors
based in the Madang Factory, providing the business with critical HR direction and supports, supporting the Operations
(Manufacturing Leadership) Team, overseeing the full HR Spectrum from recruitment to separation.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Overseeing the overall day-to-day HR Functions and production administration, providing supports and critical
HR directions to the overall operations (Manufacturing Leadership) team and the stakeholders. Driving BAT PNG
HR agenda through Operations and Supply Chain functions while reporting to the Head of Operations and Head
HR & Facilities.
• Developing Training & Development- Driving the manufacturing leadership team leaders build capability map of
every member of the Operations and supply chain teams, drive capability development interventions that deliver
significant people and business benefits.
• Change Management - Working with the Head of Operations and Head of HR, regularly undertake Organization
Design to ensure that the teams are operating in the most optimal manner, drive and manage restructuring
processes and procedures.
• HR Information System - Supporting the global company objective of driving line manager accountability through
use of global online tools such as SAP, Employee Central, TalenT and Aurora etc.
• Performance Management – Ensuring that robust perform objectives are set, talent reviews are undertaken
yearly and succession planning is robust to ensure minimal requirements for external recruitment.
• Recruitment – Providing BAT PNG first class talent attraction and recruitment services across all the operations
and supply chain functions.
• Employee Relations – Providing IR advice to Managers, team leaders/supervisors relating to discipline, grievance
and IR cases in consistent with BAT PNG policies & procedures, PNG Labor Laws and Industrial Awards to ensure
no impact on the business.
• Drive through the line managers accountability of recruitment needs, application of online HR tools, policies and
procedures
• Conduct line manager up-skilling to ensure that the people basics are maintained.
• Work on projects as required – either local, Area or Regional and represent the company’s best interests
externally.
Significant Achievements most proud of:
✓ Conducted 2017 Mid-year to end of year performance calibration, trained over 50 key staff on how to
set 2018 performance objectives online, getting 100% completion rate before the deadline.
✓ Chaired BAT Operations team 2018 talent review meeting (which was one of the best as recommended
by operations).
✓ Provided consultation and advice to direct line managers on how to manage Performance Reviews,
Performance Improvement plans for employees that needed performance Improvement and Setting
perform Objectives for 2018.
✓ Managed 5 x employee relations cases and successfully completed without any legal impact on the
business.
✓ Managed through 6 different redundancy cases through robust redundancy consultation process and
successfully managed through liaising with the department of labour.
✓ Currently working on a 12months Management development project within the Operations Team +
more others as the Single HR Business Partner.
✓ Conducted several disciplinary meetings between employees and their direct supervisors, provided
advice, consultations services and coach line managers on how to conduct performance improvement
plans and disciplinary meetings in line with BAT PNG Policies and the PNG Labour Laws.
2. April 2013 - June 2017: HR Business Partner – World Vision PNG
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy (no-profit) organization dedicated to working with the
world’s most vulnerable communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision PNG has around 400 staff across
PNG including expatriates. I was overseeing the full HR spectrum from recruitment to separation, managing over 100
staff including casuals, volunteers and students (on graduate program) in Bougainville Area Program based out of POM,
coordinated the entire organisation’s overall workforce planning.
Roles, Responsibilities & achievement
Workforce Planning
Drew out and updated the entire organization’s annual WFP (workforce planning), Coordinating the other HR Business
Partners (HR Officers), ensure timely and effective recruitment done (30 cut of days), and vacant positions are filled in
less than 30 days as per the organization’s recruitment practice, monitor all the area Program’s HR Officers to ensure
vacant positions are updated monthly.
Recruitment
• Coordinated recruitment of over 60 health professionals (Health Extension Officers, nurses and CHWs) and
engaged 2-3 staff in each of the 22 Provinces to work alongside NDOH (National Department of Health) help
reduce the spread of TB in PNG, acting in my capacity as the single HR Officer in 2013. Recruited over 10
Project Managers and over 20 other project officers as a single HR Officer Point person for World Vision
Bougainville Area Program in 2015. Currently managing over 40 Staff in Bougainville in all HR & Administrative
Functions as a single HR Officer.
• Coordinate and attend to recruitment needs at the country office based in Port Moresby, attend to
recruitment of staff in other area programs other than Bougainville on ad hoc basis when need arises.
• Liaised with internal managers and external stakeholders on recruitment matters.
Contract Administration
• Prepared over 50 + Job Offer Letters and employment Contracts.
• Reviewed and facilitated contract extension for staff.
• Facilitate exits, calculate final pay for exiting staff in accordance with the organizational policies and PNG
employment Laws.
• Sent out probation and contract ending alerts and contract ending notice/letter, staff contract extension etc.
Facilitate Staff separation process, disciplinary letters etc., keep such documents in orderly confidential manner;
establish staff records of all HR activities.
Remuneration Packaging
• Prepared new hire packaging, commensurate with their work experience, skills and experiences required for each
vacant position. Working closely with the payroll to ensure overtime and new hires are paid in a timely manner.
Package other fringe benefits (such as salary sacrifice for school fees and housing or transport fares etc.) for staff.
Process final pay-out for exiting staff.
Orientation, Placement
• Designed, develop, and roll out New Hire Orientation, Induct new hire with the organization’s core Values and
principles, its vision, mission, objectives, policies and code of conducts, securities briefings, etc., and placement.
• Facilitated necessary recruitment forms, compile HR Policies, Employment Code of Conduct, Security briefing, AON
Health Insurance (insure staff), NASFUND, IRC Forms, etc. induct new hires; produce accurate information to finance
team to effect payroll
Performance Management
• Coordinated over 40 Project staff including project managers (supervisors) and staff set Performance Targets every
financial year; take staff through Mid-year Performance Review to End of Year Appraisal. Assisted staffs identify
agreed performance and actual performance during performance appraisal/review. Rate and reward
individual/team performance.
• Identify talent gaps, development needs, and recommend individual talents for training etc.
Employee Grievances and IR cases.

Other HR Administration and Coordination
• Daily update of the HR Information System/database, ranging from recruitment, performance management, etc., up
to separation.
• Filing. Ensure confidential document are kept in confidential manner. Ensure records of all staff such as probationary
periods, End of contracts, projects and separation dates, severance and disciplinary matters are captured and
documented. Provide daily support to the HR operations and administrative duties in both the project sites and at
the country office.
Most proud of significant Input/Contribution to World Vision
✓ Coordinated the recruitment of 24 competent project staff just in one and a half week in 2016.
✓ Coordinated, updated and delivered the entire organizations Workforce Planning FY2015, 2016, and 2017.
✓ Coordinated the recruitment and engagement of 2-3 Health Professionals in each of all the 22 provinces
with World Vision’s TB DOTS Program as a single HR Officer in 2013.
✓ Successfully recruited inducted, and placed over 30 Project officers in 4 different Projects and over 6 admin
and support officers (excluding the casual officers) in a span of one month in 2016 as a single HR Officer in
Bougainville.
✓ Successfully Completed Performance Agreement, Mid-year Performance Review, and end of year
Performance Appraisal for over 70 TB DOTS staff in the 22 Provinces including the country office in 2013,
and 37 staff including 6 Project Managers in 5 different Projects in Bougainville in 2014.
✓ Coordinated and engaged Students for intensive training work placement programs from UPNG, PAU and
Pacific Technical College.
✓ Coordinated the HR Team for the Air Energi’s Career fair 2015, in terms of event planning, employers
display, etc.
3. HR Graduate Trainee – Pacifica Air Energi Ltd in partnership with PNGHRI - February to Sept. 2013
Papua New Guinea Human Resource Institute (PNG HRI) not for profit professional association of human resource
managers, practitioners and academicians in the country with membership and associates of more than 500
organizations and professionals in Papua New Guinea. PNG HRI carries out professional human resources development
activities like trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences and other capacity building programs. It is affiliated to the Asia
Pacific Federation of Personal Managers Association. Sister Professional Organizations include Australian Human
Resource Institute (AHRI), New Zealand Human Resources Institute (NZHRI), and ten (10) others in the Asia Pacific region.
As part of the graduate development program I was engaged with PNGHRI as part of the team to facilitates training
programs, do recruitment and carry out general administration duties.
Achievement:
Conferences - Coordinated PNG Human Resources Institute’s Annual Conference and member’s conference 2013. Both
conferences were a success where I was part of a simple yet significant team members involved in seeking corporate
sponsors, event planning and advertising events, confirmation of venues, registration of members and inviting notable
high- profile speakers.

July 2017 to Current: Human Resource Business Partner/Manager Operations - British American Tobacco (BAT) PNG Ltd BAT PNG Ltd is a leading global tobacco company in the manufacturing industry in PNG with its factory based in Madang and head office in Port Moresby. Currently I am managing over 117 permanent employees plus casuals and contractors based in the Madang Factory, providing the business with critical HR direction and supports, supporting the Operations (Manufacturing Leadership) Team, overseeing the full HR Spectrum from recruitment to separation. Roles & Responsibilities • Overseeing the overall day-to-day HR Functions and production administration, providing supports and critical HR directions to the overall operations (Manufacturing Leadership) team and the stakeholders. April 2013 - June 2017: HR Business Partner – World Vision PNG World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy (no-profit) organization dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision PNG has around 400 staff across PNG including expatriates. I was overseeing the full HR spectrum from recruitment to separation, managing over 100 staff including casuals, volunteers and students (on graduate program) in Bougainville Area Program based out of POM, coordinated the entire organisation’s overall workforce planning. Workforce Planning Drew out and updated the entire organization’s annual WFP (workforce planning), Coordinating the other HR Business Partners (HR Officers), ensure timely and effective recruitment done (30 cut of days), and vacant positions are filled in less than 30 days as per the organization’s recruitment practice, monitor all the area Program’s HR Officers to ensure vacant positions are updated monthly. Recruitment • Coordinated recruitment of over 60 health professionals (Health Extension Officers, nurses and CHWs) and engaged 2-3 staff in each of the 22 Provinces to work alongside NDOH (National Department of Health) help reduce the spread of TB in PNG, acting in my capacity as the single HR Officer in 2013. Recruited over 10 Project Managers and over 20 other project officers as a single HR Officer Point person for World Vision Bougainville Area Program in 2015. Currently managing over 40 Staff in Bougainville in all HR & Administrative Functions as a single HR Officer. • Coordinate and attend to recruitment needs at the country office based in Port Moresby, attend to recruitment of staff in other area programs other than Bougainville on ad hoc basis when need arises. • Liaised with internal managers and external stakeholders on recruitment matters. Contract Administration • Prepared over 50 + Job Offer Letters and employment Contracts. • Reviewed and facilitated contract extension for staff. • Facilitate exits, calculate final pay for exiting staff in accordance with the organizational policies and PNG employment Laws. • Sent out probation and contract ending alerts and contract ending notice/letter, staff contract extension etc. Facilitate Staff separation process, disciplinary letters etc., keep such documents in orderly confidential manner; establish staff records of all HR activities. Remuneration Packaging • Prepared new hire packaging, commensurate with their work experience, skills and experiences required for each vacant position. Working closely with the payroll to ensure overtime and new hires are paid in a timely manner. Package other fringe benefits (such as salary sacrifice for school fees and housing or transport fares etc.) for staff. Process final pay-out for exiting staff.
